As long as the Ka's in good condition and well serviced I can't see it being a problem to you as long as it's looked after.

Had a look at the cars you've posted, the City Rover isn't a very good car, won't be much of a step up from your Fiesta to be honest. The SportKa and the StreetKa are nice cars.

That Clios overpriced, you could have this one for not much more cash.

    This Seat looks good.

It's perfectly normal to haggle, the seller will be expecting it. I always consider the price on the advert to be a starting price ;)

Ps had no idea about Rovers. Just out of interest why do you say the Clio is overpriced? As it is not very high spec? Mileage is quite low. thanks

Just got insurance quote - £555 on the StreetKa. I was only paying £200 on old Fiesta.

The spec is low and it's the older shape Clio as well. the Clio I posted was higher spec, newer and only has 8000 more miles for £100 more. This ones better, but more expensive predictably.

It's probably because it's a convertible and a higher insurance group than your Fiesta. If you're not willing to pay that much, the cars I posted above are the same or a lower insurance group than your Fiesta so should cost around the same to insure.

ps I'm not insured at the moment. Do I have to get insurance to test drive cars? Also I need to hire a car and the insurance is usually £10 a day extra (ie to lower the excess). Not sure whether I can get cover for this elsewhere, rather than from the hire companies. Thanks

If you are test driving private cars then most likely you will need insurance, there are companies that offer short term insurance which I assume you could use if you wanted to test drive a private car.

Thanks John - by private cars I assume you mean I'd be covered when test driving cars from a garage?

Usually yes, ask first though of course. Take a friend with comp on their own car to private sales for the test drive.

That rover, well, its ok but simply not up to european standards - its actually a Tata Indica with a rover badge, which on one hand means it won't have head gasket failure (erm, like my 'proper' rover has :p ) but on the other means its a budget Indian car.

Buscape is talking sense. :) Whose name I first read as 'buscopan'. :rotfl:

Why nonsense? I don't think he/she is talking nonsense.

OK, no wonder it's so cheap. I just wondered but it does look boring anyway. I will be going on my own tomorrow so may just look at the ones in garages for now. Thanks
