what's the best thing about living alone??

I split from my husband of ten years recently and I'm loving living alone:T
I'm sorry that the marriage ended ( I ended it, I just didn't love him anymore) but I'm so much happier now.
If I buy nice ice cream when I go to get some there's not 3/4 of it missing.
If I open something in the fridge I make sure it's all wrapped up again so doesn't spoil.
No skid marks in the toilet (sorry to be crass but seeing as I did all the cleaning these things are important:o).
Nice, restful nights with no snoring, farting or cover hogging.
Being able to watch what I want and not having my bt vision box cluttered up with terrible films/ series.
Dishes go in the dishwasher not on the work top beside it;) never understood why he did that, despite me asking numerous times he never got the hang of it:mad:
Many others too numerous to mention. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -
I lived alone for a short while some years ago & I used to sit there & look around my home & think this, is all mine, I paid for all of this stuff, I decorated it .... no sharing, mine, mine, mine, I get to eat all the chocolate biscuits, only buy what food I like, no cleaning up man's mess, or wash his filthy underpants, if the doorbell rings it's for me, if the phone rings it's for me, no arguments apart from the ones' with myself, & I always win those. I appeared to have so much more time too.0

Just like to say I have enjoyed reading this thread. I am a 33 year old bloke, did the communal university living thing then almost 2 years living back with my folks as I saved up and looked for my own place. Been here for almost 8 years entirely by myself and I find I can't imagine sharing it with anyone else.
The annoyance of having to do all the dishes is offset by knowing that when I come to cook next they will have remained clean and unused.
Total control over TV (rarely on) or radio (on nearly all the time) is great. When going round to someone else's place for the evening it used to drive me nuts if the TV stayed on all the time. If the programme on involved people singing, dancing or public votes on said activities so much the worse! I used to wonder why they'd asked me round at all as whenever I tried to start a conversation I felt I was interrupting their viewing.
I have almost totally forgotten what it's like to have to queue for the bathroom.
Ditto treading quietly around so as not to disturb someone else sleeping.
I simply like being in total control of my living space and what I choose to do in it. Demographics would suggest a lot more people are choosing the way of living.0 -

I've kinda glanced through your thread but not read it properly, from what I read though I'm glad you made the right decision.
