Love this thread! How are you getting on OP??
I have lived alone now for 2 years and love it!
I do have a boyfriend that stays over about 3 nights a week but on the nights Im alone its bliss
My OH has a bad habit of leaving the lid off the toothpaste after he's used it and having every light on, drives me bonkers!0 -
The lack of washing up!
When its just me i tend to stick to using one plate (obv washing it), but when bf is here i seem to get through every plate and pot and pan going. He does occasionally do the washing up...but i feel guilty for asking him to do it as i still kind of feel when he visits he's my "guest"This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Not strictly alone live with my son but
LOVE LOVE LOVE it0 -
Im another big fan of living alone.
Split up with hubby nearly three years ago, spent a few months feeling proper lonely and sad on my own, jumped into another relationship with a guy who used to stay over a couple of nights a week. Grew to love the nights he wasnt there
Dumped him and have been on my own now for ten months.
Love everything about it, nobody cares if the fridge is always empty and i live on takaways or eating at freinds houses. The bathroom is always clean and if its not no one cares or comments. The house is always as tidy as i choose it to be. Can choose to spend all day and speak to no one if i choose or go out for days on end.
Im planning on living alone forever. I love only having to please myself.0 -
I love knowing that if I want something for dinner I can have it. If I decide to spend all day in my jogger with bed hair then so be it.
I miss the chit chat but sometimes I swear I have more meaningful conversations with the cat than an ex of mine.[STRIKE]£2200[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£1950[/STRIKE][STRIKE]£1850[/STRIKE] £1600 on my credit card

being woken up at least once a night- OH late to bed in the early hours, stealing blanket, snoring
OH smoking
always doing the cooking, laundry, housework
always having to chivvy OH or ask them to contribute with housework
having to cajole or drag them out to anything social
morning breath/aversion to teeth brushing
OH toxic relationship with family
OH addiction with online gaming and its inflexible schedule
bitterness and jealousy over any success I have at work, meaning comments on how I shouldn't ask OH to contribute to all the petrol costs from driving OH around as I earn more
lack of ambition or motivation
constant complaining, negativity, glass half-empty woe is me attitude
OH booking time off work for a holiday which never appears then smoking/playing online for 12-14 hour stretches at a time
constant moaning when food shopping
having to online shop in order to avoid moaning
how everything is a hassle and chore
poor standards of personal hygiene
a partner who is in love with their PC
aggression and anger when socks, underwear, workwear hasnt been washed and prepared- but never actually putting on a load of laundry
not paying 50% of the rent/bills just because I earn more, even though it amounts to only 1/3 of their income
average sex
Bloody hell all I ever did was leave the loo seat up..that certainly makes you think0 -
'You time' .... lots and lots of 'you time' , its BRILLIANT!
No one else to 'please' apart from yourself
No 'sharing' the remote , watching what you want , doing what you want , whenever you want
Being your own person , happy in yourself , content in simply being you
No headache , no heartache , no emotional pain or stress , no one to even TRY to 'tell you what to do' ....
I know it's not always like the above , but there is a reason why I am single and my exes are exes , sometimes I just ''couldn't breathe'' and now I can ''breathe'' deeply and freely and be my own person and I love it
If I meet the right guy in the future , fine , it's the icing on the cake , not the whole cake , and if I don't am fine on my own anyway , you gotta be happy with yourself before you can be happy with anyone else I reckon!
( And stuff being treated badly , life's too short for any of that carp!!! ) x0 -
What's not to like! Pretty much the same as other people:
1) When I get home the house is in exactly the same state as I left it, whether that's beautifully clean & tidy or looking like I've been burgled!
2) I can eat what I want, when I want. Curry for breakfast, toast for dinner etc.
3) I can enjoy loud music or silence depending on my mood
4) The TV is rarely on
5) I can set the alarm for 6am or sleep all day and no one questions it
6) I don't have to wash smelly work clothes
7) No one to question where I'm going, what I'm wearing and when I'll be back
8) No one farting in bed at night or making the sheets hairy
I could keep going...!0 -
I took great enjoyment in being able to put her Stupid Decorative Twigs through the Garden Shredder! with a dash of Pot-Pourri!!!
Only needing to have pillows on the bed, Extra-extra-extra Cushions no longer needed...0
