Years ago I used to get itchy lower legs, mainly to the front & I think it was caused by shaving or could it have been caused by tights?:confused::confused:

I've been using the venus razor for years & I rarely wear tights now & I haven't had it for years.

But its back:mad: , its been bothering me for about 2 weeks now, they get so itchy to the front mainly I want to scratch them till they bleed almost (I have false nails).
I started wearing popsocks again recently (under trousers). But I started that about 6 months ago.

Anyone else had this. They need shaving now & are very itchy, if I shave them it does seem to help for a day & then they get itchy again.

    I haven't had this for about 10 years:mad:

    Please say someone knows why:confused:

Can't say I know why, but have you tried hair removing foam or waxing instead to rule out whether its the shaving or not?

Floyd, where do you go to have your laser treatment, is it a national company?

and how much was 6 sessions ?
  • I get that a lot, always on the front of my legs. Dont shave very often, sometimes its cream, but the itching never seems to relate. Never any visible reason for the itching before I start scratching. I put a cold cloth on them or hang them out of the bed or at its worst, slather them in germolene (has a local anaesthetic in it).

I get this when I don't use enough shaving gel, or when my legs are super dry. I would use a moisturising shaving gel, and then make sure you moisturise well afterwards x
    Gone ... or have I?

OMG - shaving does this to me too. I could scratch my legs to the bone  it's so bad that I wake myself up in the middle of the night scratching. Underarms too!

Or I did ...... before I stopped shaving and started waxing instead.

I think the itching is some kind of razor burn but, in my case, no amount of shaving gel, foam or oil - or post shaving moisturing treatment - would stop the itching/scratching. The only thing to cure it was to stop shaving!

    Try a wax instead.

I knew I couldn't be the only one.

I also had a feeling it was shaving.

When I started using those nice divine razors it stopped.

I wonder if my daughter borrowed mine & that causes it? Anyone know?

Yes they do feel a little dryer than normal.

Waxing is not really for me, you have to grow & wax and grow & wax.
I like to "ideally" keep them smooth all the time.

I smothered them in Boots botancial (I think its organic) body lotion last night, it seems to have helped.

Its not all the time, just often.

But why stop for years & years and then come back? Odd.

I will use a shave gel instead of soap for a while & moisturise LOADS & see if that helps.

    Thank you all.

I get terribly itchy shins in winter, but when I up my vitamin intake it disappears:j- the undersides of my forearms are also affected, and if I let it go witohut taking a multivitamin regularly I get itchy patches on my upper arms and lower back too!

It's always worse for me nearer the end of winter- roll on Springtime and longer days!

I notice the itchiness more in the bath though- perhaps the heat of the water- but there are times when I'd happily claw all the skin off to get rid of the itching.
