hair removal (merged)

There are two types of wax, strip wax and hard wax. Strip wax is when they put the wax on your skin and pull it off with a fabric strip. Hard wax is put on more thickly and is left to harden and then the wax is pulled off, without any need for a fabric strip. Hard wax shrink wraps the hair. Some people find the hard wax is less painful, although it can be a bit more expensive. For your first time, I would try hard wax.0

I don't know if its the same with bikini's, but I used to wax my legs myself and only managed one leg as it was so painful lol, but when I went to a professional it hardly hurt at all.
Def take painkillers 1/2 and hour before, theres also something called Relax & Wax No Scream Cream which is supposed to numb your skin, but its £14 and I've not tried it so can't say how good it is!If it hurts no-one, let it be :beer:0 -
Hi
It took me a few years to getting round to having one done because I kept wimping out. I finally had one done at the beginning of this year; I was so Nervous but it didn't hurt anywhere near what I was expecting. It was over before I realised.
I had the hot wax (it sets and is peeled off rather than using the fabric strips) and I find it's this that makes the biggest difference on my bikini waxing. It's much more suitable for me than the usual wax.
In all honesty, waxing my legs hurts more than my bikini area.

I use the hiar removal cream which doesn't seem to have as bad stuble (stinks the bathroom out though!)
Do you really have to go in a load of poses for the hollywood? And how long does it have to be?
Thanks in advance!0 -
Why not try a Brazilian first then go for the whole Hollywood look next time?
It's not too bad - I think when I first started getting underarms waxed that was more painful. Beauty therapists are well used to it so if you are embarrassed to start then it soon goes. As for length, you are better to trim the hairs down as the longer they are the more painful it is. I learned this from my first time therapist who then proceeded to trim the hairs with her nail scissors - now that was nerve-wracking!
As for positions, I've only been asked to get into the "normal" position, not the table gymnastics suggested by "Sex and the City"!
Now I'm an MSE-er I DIY, but that does mean some contortions....
Good luck!0 -

After 6 sessions on my 'beard' I don't need any more as it has completely disappeared, my last session was 2 months ago and there are 2 fair hairs that grow but nothing else. Apparently I was a particularly good candidate (very dark hair and fair skin) and the therapist was kicking herself that she didn't take a before and after photo!
Anyway, I have moved onto getting my top lip done but only had 1 session so far.
It is the best thing I ever did and I really wish I had done it years ago.
As soon as this area is done I will definately be moving onto another area although I haven't decided where yet.
The results you get depend largely on your skin and hair colour but I am 100% happy with the results of mine0
