If you have polycystic ovary syndrome or some other hormonal disorders some health trusts will pay for it but it has to be pretty severe to get it.0

Also it may be worth having a chat with your GP, if you haven't already. I have heard of cases in the past where people have been able to get help from the NHS where a physical problem is causing a lot of mental suffering and significantly affecting their lives. Perhaps you could make a case for this? I do feel for you as I have been plagued all my life by excess hair, and I only wish I had discovered lasering sooner.0 -
To those who asked: yes I do have PCOS but I don't have excessive facial hair really and most of it is very pale ginger but it is enough to bother me and ingrowing hairs are a constant source of irritation )in all ways).
It was at a time (3 years ago) when the cash situation was better in the NHS.
Personally, I think it was a pilot project and I just happened to be the ginger one who came along. If you want any more details please PM me. Happy to help.0 -
There don't seem to be any prices on the Skn website. I would like to have bikini and possibly underarms and wondered how much that would be assuming I need 6 treatments.
Also, does a bikini session hurt a lot?0 -

In answer to your other question, Yes!! But it's worth it.0 -
I,ve had laser treatment at Skn, it really was well worth it. If I remember rightly it was £75 a time for lip, chin and front of neck. It was cheaper to buy the package but I couldnt afford the outlay. Went for 6 sessions 6 weeks apart. It was brill and not very painful at all, less pain and much more effective the electrolysis for me. That was around 9 months ago maybe need to go back now, but not desperate:T:jDabbler in all things moneysaving.Master of none:o

How permanent is the hair loss, I thought it would last at least 2 years or longer. I am surprised Teedy that you have to go back after 9 months.0

But the point is, you get much less hair growing back! I have had excessive hairgrowth (ie. much more than average) all my life. When they've finished with me I expect my hairgrowth to be much like a 'normal' person! When I go for my yearly top-up I'm not expecting the growth to be anywhere near as bad as it was.0
