hair removal (merged)

OK - I've never waxed, and frankly won;t ever be persuaded to. I tried an epilator once. OUCH! Managed to do two hairs before I stopped. And I generally have a high pain threshold.
I shave my armpits and my legs (of course thie thighs too - who wants hairy thighs?).
I pluck my eyebrows.
I used to shave my bikini line, but it comes back stubbly (yuck) so I tired creams, but they hcanged the formulation and last time it hurt so much to wee for days afterwards I thought I was going to have to stop eating or drinking so I wouldn;t have to go!
So now I pluck. Yes, I pluck my bikini line, although so far only the front bit and not underneath, as that is quite painful. But I am going to do it using Bonjela and painkillers. The front wasn't painful really, and it stays nice and smooth AND no ingrowns. But then I dont; go in for Brazilians. I just tidy up what I've got, as it were.
But do those leg mitts really work? I tried them years ago when I was a teenager and they were rubbish! Or is my hair just very resistant? DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

I tried the leg mitts, and they did work, but I was there forever trying to get my legs done. I ended up with very sore legs.
I can't believe you pluck. I actually winced as I read that. I might get drunk one night and try that, I don't think I could do it sober!! Let us know if the bonjella works though.I live in my own little world, but it's ok as everyone knows me here

It isn;t as bad as you'd think - the first couple of plucks are a bit wince-worthy, but after that it is fine - you need to pull the skin taut though. Will defo let you know re the bonjela - I read on here people use it for their brows, although I don;t find that painful, so thought it might help with my , ahem, undercarriage! :j

There is a website called Gender Genie (http://www.bookblog.net/gender/genie.html) which works out whether something was written by a male or a female, based on an analysis of word frequency, etc.
It looks at 3 different types of written passage - non-fiction, fiction, and blog entry - on the basis that each is written differently I guess.
I pasted the waxing horror story into Gender Genie as each of these in succession. In all 3 cases it reckons it was written by a man.
Sorry about that....
It also reckons most of the notorious 'Belle de Jour' blog (http://belledejour-uk.blogspot.com/2005_10_01_belledejour-uk_archive.html) - well, the bits I've put through it - was written by a man too. Shame...0 -
Hmm. I just used that on something I wrote about having my boobs enlarged and it thinks I am male!!!
Methinks tis not accurate...:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

Has noone else tried any of the little electrical gizmos which you stick small discs on like a smooth emery board?
No more pain and supersmooth legs as it exfoliates your skin. Takes the same time as epilation , no ingrown hairs and after a while the hair does become weaker."Life is like a game of cards. I was going to, but read bad reviews on amazon or something like that. Whoever it is who sells electricals as well as books and cd's. A few people had had bad experiences with it and ended up with sore legs. So opted for an epilator instead.

Haven't had a problem - legs are super smooth and exfoliated.
Epilator to me means two types of pain, the plucking and then the ingrown hairs."Life is like a game of cards. It's not too bad. I have the one with an ice pack, which definately helps. It also has an exfoliating head which stops the ingrown hairs. I havn't had any yet ( she says as she nearly breaks the wood table in front of her).I live in my own little world, but it's ok as everyone knows me here
