shelly wrote:I don't bleach as often as I should really.....I only do my lip when I'm going out. If I done it as often as it needs I'd be doing it every 2-3 weeks. I buy Jolen and it costs £4.59. As I don't use it too often it just sits in the bathroom and when I want to use it again it doesn't work as effectively as it does from new. I can get 10 waxing strips for less than £3 but I'm not sure if they are less effective if I leave them to sit about like I do the bleach. As we don't go out often I buy a new tub everytime I want to use it so its working out too dear really, and I figured waxing would be so much quicker (thats if I remember to do it the nite before
)
shelly have you tried storing you Jolen in a coolish dark place inbetween uses, instead of leaving it in the bathroom? Only I store my Jolen in a drawer in my bedroom & as I mentioned in my other post a tub lasts me about a year & I haven't noticed it becomes less effective as time goes on.
The hot, humid & damp conditions of a bathroom may not suit the bleach, especially the granuals you have to mix with the creme, so maybe worth having a try storing your tub elsewhere.The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -

Thanks.
Always try a little patch test first because you face skin is quite sensitive, that's why I always use a sensative removal cream and check the box or instruction leaflet to make sure you can use it on facial hair.Dum Spiro Spero0 -
Why don't you try electrolysis, I think the salon I use charge around £18 a session, depends on the size of area you want to treat though. I think you can buy the electrolysis systems too, not too expensive if you were to go for it though, considering a treatment is around £20. I think you could pick up an electrolysis system for around £50. Never used the treatment and don't know how effective the home systems are but perhaps someone else knows. The link is to a home system available in Argos for £49.99.

Lara wrote:Have you thought about lazer treatment? The local salon to me does this and charges around £20. The growth is very slow and you may only need 4 or 5 sessions before it's all gone. Depending on the skin type you may see a red blotch or absolutely nothing at all. Might be worth looking into that avenue -so to speak. My sister is a beauty therapist and top lip waxing is very popular even with 17/18 yr old girls!
No...I hadn't thought about laser treatment but I am now! I don't mind paying for a few treatments if the hair eventually stops growing as thats cheaper in the long run than keep buying bleach/wax strips/removal cream. Will give it some thought and enquire about the cost in my area. Thanks.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
threading is quite effective as well!!!!!!
similar to waxing, pulls hair out from roots.Nice to save.0 -
I think I've tried the lot except for laser treatment.
Shaving is a no go on the face as hair grows back stubbly which we ladies deffo dont want.
Creams need to be used with caution as left on just a minute too long can leave red marks and I also find that creams don't remove any stronger hairs though are fine for downy hair.
Electrolosis is good long term but you have to resist the urge to pluck any that show in between treatments and its also very expensive.
I personally find waxing the best but as long as someone else does it for me. Usually get it done when I get my legs done and cream in between times.
