Thanks squidge. I'm dreading it. May have let the leg hairs grow a bit too much...

i used to epilate before having a bath but then changed the routine so i;d have my bath first then do my legs as its less painful
i attempted to epilate my underarms and it was soo sore so never bothered any more and i dont even want to imagine how painful epilate the bikini line would be

Apparently it's more painful around the time of the month too. A glass of wine first might help, the more you do it the easier it gets though.

Honestly the first few plucks and it hurts but I find it gets better as I carry on.
Under my arms isn't as bad as my knees for some reason?!
I'd never, ever do bikini line - epliating or waxing. Sorry even my pain threshold isn't high enough for that one (wll not by choice anyway!).

Thank you all. Will fortify myself with wine and get on with it later. Had better keep the screams of pain down so I don't wake the kids :silenced:.
    Cheers!

it's less painful when you epilate around ovulation time as pain threshold is higher. remember to exfoliate first with a body scrub or do a dry scrub with a loofah!. when i start to epilate i start at the ankles first and just hover the machine and epilate scatteredly ie not concentrating on one area. then as i get a bit used to the plucking sensation and work up the leg i then concentrate on the areas missed.
i use a hair minimising cream straight after.

Bikini line isn't so painful as long as you trim the hair first if its long and you hold your skin as tight as possible.

You really need a good mirror, a good light, and a good sense of humour because of some of the positions you need to be getting yourself into.

TBH the between the legs is a lot less painful then the mons area - that I do find hard to do and tend to do it over two sessions.

    Thanks for the ongoing replies!

I don't really have a problem with the pain side of epilating, just that the hair doesn't seem to be going away!

I think I'm going to have to put a bit more effert into it, I think I may have been expecting too much too soon. I just want legs like the woman on the advert has! haha!!

The only way that is going to happen any time soon is to let your hair grow for at least six weeks before going at it with the epi,

Hair grows at different times so a good six week growth will usually mean you have as close to 100% hair poking through the skin as possible

My sis says do it when you have a migraine as the pain distracts you from the migraine :rotfl:

I have to say, underarms hurts more than bikini - i think :o and DON'T go putting deo on straight afterwards - ouch!!!! ;)

And the more you do it, the less it seems to hurt.
