Given that my legs are rarely on display, I don't worry too much about them. But I have to say I'm very pleased with the ongoing results of having my armpits properly waxed after I made a right mess of DIY! Must be over 10 weeks ago, and regrowth is definitely shorter and finer than I expected, ie I don't look at them and think "must do them again!"Signature removed for peace of mind0

Well Im gonna invest in a professional wax system like they use in salons and have a go at doing bottom half of legs myself as im sick to death of shaving every time I go in bath and hopefully by next summer the growth should have weakened.
Anybody got one of these or can recommend best make etc?Make £10 a Day Feb .....£75.... March... £65......April...£90.....May £20.....June £35.......July £600 -

I'm a complete hitlet about body hair! Brazillian done every 4/6 weeks, legs and armpits shaved (for speed) regularly, though it's getting more difficut as I'm pregnant and belly is in the way!
Creams and things can work, but after a while it's as though your body gets used to it and they just weaken the hair. I swear by waxing, but best go to a professional as doing it yourself is rubbish unless your really brave and have top quality gear.0 -
I have a phillips epilator with ice pack and a separate exfoliating head. The ice pack does help, it sort of takes the sting out of it. Although the first few times it is quite painful. The exfoliating head helps to stop ingrown hairs. After epilation I put aqueous cream on as it is quite soothing.(Available at boots, over the counter.) Hair regrowth is getting less and less each time, and it will work out cheaper in the long run, as those intuition blades cost a fortune and seem to run out quicker on the one side.
I would like to ask though how painful is it to get a brazilian? I shave at the moment and am fed up with it regrowing so quick and the desperate need to scratch. Not brave enough to try and epilate, and would like it professionally done as when I tried to wax my legs no hairs came off.:)I live in my own little world, but it's ok as everyone knows me here0 -
Since you mention Brazilians, bethom, I did wonder how far others go? Just to the knicker line? More? Less? I'm curious because if you believe that catwalk and underwear models are anything to go by, then we should all have smooth as a baby's bum parts and I just don't believe that's the case! (Anyone remember the Ben Elton sketch? - I don't think I can repeat it on here.)May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0

I bought one off ebay. The one I bought doesn't seem to be listed today (I bought it months ago) but there are plenty of others. As ever, with ebay, look at the seller rating/feedback and choose carefullyWarning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -
I got one for £35 at the Ideal Home show including two huge pots of wax and two huge bottles of lotion. the strips etc as well as the heating thingy. It was Cyclax, it has saved me loads on going to the salons.
Be warned, before you are used to it it can be really messy, I'm used to it now cos I've been sugaring and waxing for years but I always spread a large old towel down cos little bits of hot wax seems to get everywhere.
Be REALLY careful to hold the skin taut if you do the bikini area or the tops of your legs where the skin is looser than say your shins for example. I did not once and it gave me awful bruising, I could see the bleeding under the skin spread before my eyes and it hurt like hell, I think the neighbours heard me roar!0 -
Don't want to alarm anybody, but has anyone read the story by newfunk in the MoneySaving Arms titled 'Waxing!! Adult themed!!!'"It is always the best policy to speak the truth-unless, of course, you are an exceptionally good liar." - Jerome K Jerome0
