Okay, I confess. I have two children.

I am also on pain killers for my arthritic foot and now because of my accident and I STILL can't bear to do it.

My daughter and I have said we will try it together so I think we have to just set a day and time and get on with it.

I only have a relatively small area on each leg that gets hair anyway after I scratched them bits following an allergic reaction to some shaving cream.
Well good luck. Given what you say about the allergic reaction, it would be worth doing a small patch 24 hours before the 'big day'. You can cut a corner off a strip and try that if there's isn't a small patch in the pack. I cut some of the strips into quarters to do some of the bits I missed. As long as you leave a 'tail' to pull it was OK, not too messy.

I think the pain thing's relative. Childbirth hurts but you get a person out of it, so it seems bearable. Waxing hurts and all you get is smooth legs. You can do that painlessly with a razor! So I reckon the pain of waxing seems so bad because you get less gain.

Did it once as a teenager. It hurt. It didn't work very well (I have fine, blonde hair on my legs and it didn't seem to pick it up.) I shave when I remember or I'm going swimming. Only at the front and only to the knees cos that's all there is TO shave. My armpits are another story though! I'd love to have it lasered off but would NEVER pay for anything so frivolous. (Ask me again when I'm a millionaire!)
May all your dots fall silently to the ground.

I shave my legs every other day in the shower else I get spiky legs according to my daughter:rolleyes: I always struggle to get a nice clean shave under my arms though but couldn't attempt to wax there.

I do use cream on my underarms and bikini line most of the time but its a pain finding something to do in the nude, standing up for 10 or so minutes:o Anyone got any good ideas ?

Thats what I usually end up doing. There must be more to life :(

Also seen as we are confessing to how hair we are does anyone shave their toes and feet:eek: Also one of my friends used to shave her arms (they were quite bad) but I told her to try bleaching them instead. Worked a treat. I bleach my hands and top lip and when I had short hair the sides of my face.

This seems to be my thread for confessions.

I don't actually shave my toes but I do trim the hair with scissors. I have been having tests and checks on my feet and was very self conscious of how they looked so the toe hair had to go.

In a spirit of solidarity with you, Bossyboots, I have been known to shave - and now wax! - my big toes! Female hobbits, here we come ...

Seriously, I almost suggested a test patch on your big toe, but didn't like to assume everyone had hairy ones like me. :D

If you're finding that the wax strips don't work very well, try warming them up a bit first. Either leave on a sunny window sill or blast with the hairdryer. It softens the wax & makes it stick to the hairs better.

I have tried various combos of home waxing, salon waxing & shaving. Shaving is def the simplest & quickest. The last time I went for a salon wax she somehow managed to miss most of my right leg, so I had to shave it as well!!
