Maybe if you don't get your funds to them in the 60 days that the "may change rate " rule then applies?
No, they clearly said if I opened an account on Monday, it would take about 30 days for money to be transferred. The fixed ISA initially opens as a variable ISA account, and converts to the fixed type on the date when the transfer is received. The rate it gets is the current fixed ISA rate at that time. They may notify you so you can decide if you want to complete the process, if not, they send cheque back to you former ISA provider, but you lose interest in this case. I think this matches the statement on their website.
I am also an existing Halifax customer but not an Icesavian.
Either way you should know it in 30 days time if you've initiated the process already. All my life my mother told me the storm was coming (c) Terminator 30 -
Egg's ISA is now paying 4.55%.

Edit: That's strange - could have sworn the first post said 6.05% before I posted...0 -

Tiptoe mouse - I've been updating the thread since 9:30pm this evening.:)
The first post of this thread has been updated.
The additions are the BMW Step Up ISA, paying 6.25% for balances totalling £36K+, Market Harborough Brighter ISA, paying 5.85% and the Stafford Railway BS ISA paying 5.60% for balances totalling £10,000+.
As expected, there have been a lot of rate cuts over the last few days, as providers factor in the huge 1.50% UK interest rate cut of early November. Most notable cuts are by HSBC and Egg which have fallen to 4.25% and 4.55% respectively. I expect that more rate cuts will follow, so it's probably worth waiting until things settle down a bit before starting a transfer to another variable rate ISA.Please call me 'Kazza'.0 -

The FD ISA would earn you around £135 interest over a year, less the £50 fee that you mention, so around £85 overall - assuming that you pay the maximum £300 per month into it.0

That's because I've received nearly a dozen PM's this week:eek:.
I've seen your suggestion regarding the Kent Reliance ISA for the under 25's. I've usually steered clear of adding ISAs to the list for particular age ranges - hence why there a no silver saver ISAs listed either. However, as so many fixed rate ISAs have been withdrawn over the last few days I will think about adding ISAs for the under 25's and silver savers now that there is space for them.
The first post of this thread has been updated. The fixed rate ISAs by Birmingham Midshires and Julian Hodge Bank have been removed and the Post Office ISA rate has been reduced to 4.25%. A new 30 day notice ISA has been launched by Chesham Building Society paying 5.75% (incl. a 1.25% bonus until 30 November 2009).Please call me 'Kazza'.0
