Anyone had problems with opening an ISA with Trading 212? My wife gave up as she couldn't get past the identity verification stage involving the video ident. I got a bit further but the system decided it needed manual verification - 1 hour wait - that was yesterday morning - still waiting!

EDIT - I went on the chat bot ,and miracle of miracles!, it connected me to a human. After a few minutes the agent verified my information and activated the account - no explanation of why the huge delay - just wonder if the mention of them in ML newsletter has caused their systems to partially collapse!

I'm on the lookout for a new EA Flexible ISA (Chip promo about to expire), and was considering Trading212, but have just noticed that the promo rate of 4.92% doesn't allow cash transfers in. Is this something new, or have they always done this?

I applied recently to T212 with the Moneyfacts code MFC (4.81% including bonus.) That didn't have the *not-transfers-in clause that the MSE promo code specified.

Looks like you can't get the 'transfer in' bonus rate regardless of which link you follow now.

I got a manual verification via Chat after it had accepted my video .
It appears to be the quality of the videocam on the phone that matters - my wife tried again yesterday but it wouldn't accept the upload - not worth the hassle trying again and certainly not worth buying another phone !!
