Are you making the most of high interest current accounts and/or regular savers?
Thanks for the pointer and good question.
I'm maxing out First Direct 6% regular saver. No special arrangement with current accounts. I have about £4k available which should be 5k before long.
Been a Lloyds customer for ages with a dormant account, might look at the Club Lloyds 4% for that amount of money which would at least earn £200 interest a year instead of £40-50.
I have another dormant current account I could switch in and a attach the 2 necessary direct debits but even that might not be necessary. A bit off topic I know (sorry) but any suggestions on how to manage the £1,500 monthly funding? Do people just nakedly cycle the same money between 2 accounts (if so which other would you use?)0 -
Yes, I fund my Club Lloyds from another Lloyds current account with a £1,500 internal transfer every month (but I'm usually fully dressed at the time!)Been a Lloyds customer for ages with a dormant account, might look at the Club Lloyds 4% for that amount of money which would at least earn £200 interest a year instead of £40-50.

Just had a rant with FD ref their rate cut and got it logged as an official complaint, hmm. They confirmed the reg month saver is still @6% fixed for 12 months, but will be undertaking a review in October for NEW reg savings, so it works out paying approx £117 gross on £300 month x 12 which equates to approx 3.25% gross, better than nowt.
As the call was being recorded, I left the lady with the thought for the FD directors to consider on the Brexit vote not going the gov way and the fact the French peasants brought down the monachy during the French revolution - Power To The People ! ( Citizen Smith 1970s)0 -
Leeds 2 year fixed rate isa paying 1.4% has been removed from its website (along with the 3.05% regular saver today).

Am I correct in thinking those if us who've opened the account already, will still get it?0 -

Staying off topic:o
Many of us cycle money through multiple accounts - lots of information available.
I assume your 'main';) current account is with FD? No interest:(.
An upgrade of a dormant Lloyds account to Club Lloyds is a possible start.
Also take a look at Nationwide Flexdirect 5% on £2500 (only for a year though) with a linked 5% regular saver, and TSB Classic Plus 5% on £2k. A couple of Tesco 3% on £3k are also useful with no DD or minimum monthly funding requirements.0 -
This appears to have been withdrawn:
Newcastle BS Fixed Rate ISA (issue 14) - 1.80%
Minimum deposit: £500.
Notes: Fixed until 24/09/2021.0 -
It's reappeared as a 2-year fix at 1.25% http://www.leedsbuildingsociety.co.uk/savings/isa-tax-free-accounts/2-year-fixed-rate-isa/Leeds 2 year fixed rate isa paying 1.4% has been removed from its website (along with the 3.05% regular saver today).0 -

The Clydesdale/Yorkshire bank one year fixed rate bond ISA paying 1.35% has also been removed from their website. It had been branch only openings for the last couple of weeks anyway.
