Guess you just need to work out how much interest you would gain on switching your ISA against the CC cost to see if it's worth it.

Obviously depends on circumstances but for me th 3% interest make it an essential account.

    Good Luck

Thank you. Just really wanted to know if there are any catches. Would I have to pay anything other than £2 per month if I do not use the card? How long do they give to pay off the balance including the monthly fee before charging interest? What happens to the ISA if I terminate the credit card?

Applied for a Prinipality Regular Saver ISA at 3% today. It was just as easy and quick as with my Tesco ISA last week. The account is open and funded. The only thing I need to wait for is a PIN via post to allow me online access.

They want me to post ID. I'm pretty wary as they seem to want original documents!? Slightly concerned about them losing my passport!?

I'd be wary about sending a passport too and the cost of getting a certified copy could outweigh the interest benefits depending on how much you plan to lodge.

I'm not sure why I didn't need ID - perhaps the electronic checks picked up the mortgage in my name at my address and that helped.

Gutted about the Leeds variable rate closing. Had set my mind on transferring into it and away from Cheshire once they've found the cheque that's got lost in between them and M&S. Was going to apply tonight!

No way, don't send any originals. Never mind that things could get lost in the post, what if they never send them back? Ridiculous requirement.

Are you sure they are asking for originals? if they really do, ring them and ask them whether they really mean it, and whether they will accept copies. If they require certified copies, the Post office offer an ID verification service http://www.postoffice.co.uk/document-certification-service

When I checked back, I did find a note at the bottom
    • Copy documents will only be accepted if they are
officially certified by a solicitor, an accountant,
a bank official or an individual regulated by the
Financial Services Authority. The copy documents
must be within the date parameters shown in the
table above. The wording must state “I certify that
this is a true copy of the original document which
I have witnessed” and must include the certifier’s
name, address, position, employer or firm, with a
    signature and date

Looking at it again though, do you think "HM Revenue and Customs Tax Notification*" would include a coding notice? Because I do have one of those I wouldn't be sad about not seeing again.
