Thank you so much.
So I send the form with a cheque and wait for a pass book. Then I set up a standing order to fund it. Then I can transfer the ISA at the end of the 12 months in the normal way.
That sounds great! I'll give it ago.
Also, just another thought, does the account show up online if you set up and log into their esavings online. Or do you just send you money and trust it is getting credited to your account?
Sorry I have so many questions.

One day late for opening the Poppy...
I could open the Vernon BS Triple Access ISA since I live in Manchester, but... any idea about how long the rate would be 2.5? Because they don't guarantee anything at all.
Or open the ISA Reward with Coventry since I am a client of them already, which is a 2.5 as well with variable rate.
Any preferences or recommendations?0 -

Sorry, I am not native English speaker. Customer is the right word.0 -

Not heard back since I posted cheque + form last Saturday 13th April. However, my 2012/13 Nottingham ISA has appeared (but not cleared) in my Santander Direct ISA, 10 days after I delivered the transfer form into a Santander branch.I came, I saw, I saved.

There is no way of knowing how long the 2.50% rate will continue, as the Vernon BS Triple Access ISA has a variable rate with no guarantee.
In order to qualify for the Coventry Reward ISA, you need to have held a cash ISA with them from at least the 04/02/2013.Please call me 'Kazza'.0 -
I transferred to Bank of East Asia, will let you know how I get along.
I went in on a Wednesday afternoon to the London branch 75 Shaftesbury Ave, London Chinatown, London W1D 5B. Typically banks spend a lot of money on their branches to make you think they are professionals with loads of money and your money is safe, this one doesn't. Everything looks quite dated inside which doesn't bother me. I filled out the paperwork for transferring my ISA in about 10-15 mins. First thing they said was that the rate could drop at any time. They said they would give me a call in a couple of weeks to pick up my ISA savings book which they did and I went back and picked it up without any problems.
I emailed them what I needed to bring to transfer my ISA to them and they responded with:
For all ISA opening we would need you to come to our branch personally and bring the following original documents:
1-Valid Passport
2-Proof of address within the last 3 months under your name (e.g Utility bills, Full UK drivers license, current council tax bill, bank/credit card statements. Please note mobile phone bills are NOT accepted)
3-NI Card, P45, P60, Pay slip or any letters from HMRC/government body showing your NI number.
4-If you are transferring funds from an existing ISA you would need to provide a statement from your existing ISA provider. The statement should show your account name, number, sort code and the address of the branch. This is so that the transfer can be completed smoothly.
I have been in the branch twice, spoke to 3 people there who all spoke English. There were I think 3 or 4 staff behind counters. There were no other customers in the branch the first time and just 1 person the second time which was on a Thursday afternoon. As the first page in this thread indicates everything is done in branch - opening/withdrawing/depositing. I will probably go back next week and deposit the full balance for this financial year. Overall a good experience so far.
Edit 28/04/13: you don't have to go into branch to make a deposit, online transfer using the account number on ISA savings book and sort code of the branch. They emailed me once I had transferred to confirm it had been received.0 -
