OK, you try
Good to see, though, that MSE Towers have been allowing this, and other "best" threads, om the forum. Other sites would probably have deleted them, but since Martin is a consumer champion, he allows these threads!0 -

Oh, that was tried years ago.
It is thought by some cynical members that, being unofficial, it doesn't create payment for the owner of the site.flergalwit wrote: »Possible but other reasons are more likely I think, e.g. it was forgotten about or never got around to. If that's the case maybe the list could be a sticky but without links to the banks, then people can go elsewhere to find the links, the ones that pay MSE for featuring them!0 -
It has been suggested earlier in the thread that the reason is more likely to be that the information on page 1 of the thread is not verified by MSE Towers - it would probably be too time-consuming to verify all the information. So we must (and do) rely on Kazza to be diligent with the research.
Thanks again Kazza. :TWarning: In the kingdom of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.

I don't think the reasoning behind why this thread isn't sticky is because of affiliated links (which aren't allowed on MSE forums anyway). Cash ISA marketing budgets these days don't stretch as far as affiliate marketing for most providers: Of the 22 accounts currently listed on the Top Cash ISA article, only 6 use links that earn MSE any click through cash (and those are probably dependent on a completed 'sale').
As Consumerist says and I've posted before, the reason this thread isn't sticky is more likely an editorial decision. The vast majority of sticky threads are for discussions related to articles and are therefore tightly coupled to the editorial content on the non-forum part of MSE. Making this thread sticky would imply an endorsement of its content and may suggest to newbies that the information is verified by MSE Towers.
Use the subscription option if you want to keep up to date with any posts on this thread (email notifications aren't mandatory), and point users to the first page if they aren't aware of it.Cider Country Solar PV generator: 3.7kWp Enfinity system on unshaded SE (-36deg azimuth) & 45deg roof0 -

Bit like the New York and Las Vegas stickys are endorsed and the information verified by MSE Towers :undecided:undecided:undecided:undecidedillegitimi non carborundum0 -
Maybe somebody could explain what they mean by " sticky"0

If you look at the front page of the ISAs & Tax Free Savings you'll see the top two threads say 'Sticky' at the start. This means they stay on the front page and don't drop down pages where it's more difficult to find a thread.

Perhaps, but there may be other reasons why MSE doesn't want this thread to be sticky.Cider Country Solar PV generator: 3.7kWp Enfinity system on unshaded SE (-36deg azimuth) & 45deg roof0
