Well, I am feeling a little less fed up about the weight gain now I have finally started to shift it. It was very nice of people to suggest it might be muscle, but I don't really think so! Doesn't help that my DH's trousers are falling down and mine aren't any more. :o

So I gave myself a stern mental talking to the other day about how I couldn't just blame the steroids while I was conveniently forgetting the trips to the biscuit tin ... and today I have been rewarded with a 2lb loss. Just wish that weight gained while on steroids would fall off the way it goes on, but I don't suppose for one moment it will. Any more than the other side effects will disappear within a week. Ho hum. Still it's better than having your brain explode through the top of your skull!

The fruit basket is full to overflowing again (not that it lasts long with the gannets around). I am doing about 5000 steps on a good day and accepting that the bad days will keep on happening for a while (I am still off sick following surgery), but only once or twice each week and since I don't feel any worse for going out for a walk, I might as well get out for a walk! Hoping that I will be fit for work on 2 days per week before long: my eldest is off to Uni on Saturday and I will climb the walls once I haven't got anyone at home to nag! Once that happens I will be doing more walking to get to work and they will just have to hide any chocolate!

  • Yoga practice is associated with attenuated weight gain in healthy, middle-aged men and women. seems to show that normal weight people who attended yoga practice for 4 years gained 3.1-lb less weight than people who didn't go to yoga, while there was an 18.5-lb lower weight gain among overweight yoga participants.

Well folks another Tuesday here & gone again - is it me or do the days start to pass faster as the ngihts start to draw in!?!

jenpoptab - I hope you are feeling a little better than when you posted a few days ago. Wanting stodgy food is I think quite normal when you aren't feeling just the ticket so I shouldn't be overly hard on yourself :) There is always another day!

Sue - Great news about your 2lb weight loss. I bet you are really quite chuffed with yourself for that :) It is also good to hear that you are getting about a bit more now, building it up slowly I know you'll soon be back at work where you can surely find a young office lad to nag with your son being out of range? :)

I hear what you say about the fruit basket. On Sunday I tried to help my weight loss by having a small punnet of strawberries with MullerLight strawberry yoghurt over them (saves me wanting sugar or cream) and then a whole tub of (yes, all 9!) plums - this was brekky and lunch and I was thinking that I would need to block book the loo in the afternoon but nopes my system decided it liked the sudden influx of fruit! I felt quite lively on Monday and attribute it to all the fruit I ate on the Sunday!

I am wondering if this is what led to my 1.5lb weight loss at club this week. *happy bounce* To date (this time around) I have now lost 16.5lbs and am quite chuffed as I am well on my way to the next half stone marker.

This weeks site password is calcium for any that are interested. Have a good week folks and look forward to hearing how you all did :)

Nope, ladies only at the office - I work for a women's charity! And I really can't be anything but VERY NICE to the amazing office assistant who has been holding the fort while I've been off sick, trying to do in 17 hours what the two of us weren't managing in 40!

Trouble is, she has a weakness for chocolate ...

But yes I was pleased to be heading in the right direction once more, just hope it doesn't take too long to lose some more!

    Well done guys.

I've lost 1lb, very pleased!!! Wedding anniversary next weekend so I hope to have another 1lb off so that I can treat myself to some tasty mexican then.

I think all the exercise of changing the living room around & doing bits in the garden has paid off.

I'm back to eating porridge for breakfast as well so that's filling me up.

Anyway good luck to all for next week.

Nice loss jenpoptab, hope you have another good loss this week :)

Went to club this week and lost another 2lb - so that's a running total now of 18 1/2 lbs. I won slimmer of the week too so ended up coming home with loads of fruit and veg which will be snacked upon in the coming days ;D Diet things seems to be going really well right now so I'll hang in there for the ride, but one thing the consultant did mention this week was that it is only 13 weeks to Christmas  This news did shock us all as this year seems to have gone so quickly!

The password for the site this week is 'walking' hope that's useful to people!

well done velvet glove. That is a fantastic loss.

I treated myself to some culottes yesterday, had no 14's so tried a 12 and could just get them on so if I lose a few more LB's I will look good in them hopefully.

It's amazing what losing a bit of weight has done for me, I'm dying my hair, buying clothes and actually feeling happy. It could also be partly as I have two gorgeous girls and a great hubby as well.
