Nice loss jenpoptab & blue-kat it seems we are doing it half a pound at a time this week ;D I did walk up and down the stairs all week this week so I'm hoping for a better loss at club on Tuesday.
angeleyes - thanks for the passwordThat website is a real heaven sent blessing for my diet. It means I can eat all sorts of things and just include them in my syns for the day.
I am feeling very dense today, just seen a few of you mentioning 'freecycle' and haven't a clue what it is but it sounds very good - anyone feel like educating me a bit please?Breynia wrote:Does anyone doing slimming world know the syn value of Pure Spread by Matthews Foods? Hey Breynia, I just looked in my A-Z food directory for 2004 and can't find a manufacturer listed under Matthews Foods I'm afraid. It isn't coming up on the website either under the 'Search All Manufacturers' where you can pick by letter and look at all the M's listed. Have you tried finding the syn value the other way?
On the website if you goto Online Tools then Syn Calculator you can get the site to calculate the syn value based on the ingredients in the item. You will need the package with you as you need to tell it the ingredients and look at the nutrition panel too. I haven't had to use it myself but the instructions seem quite alright. Hope that helps and let me know how it goesSad because you don't know what to do? Comping question? Take a look in the Comping Guide to find out0 -

Hi Lovie,
I only discovered it last week, it's under www.freecycle.org and you just type in whereabouts in the world you are, and people offer their unwanted goods on their. The only condition is that they are free. So, you see people offering bookshelves, beds, mattresses etc, anything really, and if you want it you just e-mail them and ask if you can pick it up. It's the best! xxThree years, six months, three weeks, 13 hours, 48 minutes and 30 seconds. 26011 cigarettes not smoked, saving $11,704.80. Life saved: 12 weeks, 6 days, 7 hours, 35 minutes.0 -
thanks Velvetglove, I will give it a try0

Found it and it is good news. At 2.5 sins per 10g it is one syn less than butter.0

Cheers for the info BQ - I'm going over there now to have a little look around
Breynia, I'm glad it worked for you! I knew that cruising around the site for a few hours the other day would be good for something
In other news... I've just discovered the most gorgeous Quorn product. Now don't get me wrong I am a girl who loves her meat but on a green day it's handy to have a meat substitute to hand. The other week I had some Quorn Swedish meatballs in a basil & tomato sauce, it was really scrummy, wasn't really able to tell it wasn't proper meat! Couldn't find any of those in Sainsbury's today so I found some plain Quorn Swedish Meatballs in the frozen section which are 1.5 syns for the whole 300g bag & I made a basil and tomato sauce and it was really good! Give it a go and see for yourselfSad because you don't know what to do? Comping question? Take a look in the Comping Guide to find out0 -

I've now joined my 'local' freecycle (well the one nearest to me at any rate) and I can't believe the things that people are just giving away for free! (Insert shocked smilie here
) I am sure there are quite a few things that I have lying around here that I don't use that I can pass along to someone else - let's face it I'll never get around to having a boot sale stall so at least this way the things are off my hands and doing someone else some good!
Went to club tonight and lost 1.5lbs which I was very happy withThat makes my total loss 12lbs since starting club. Couldn't stay to the class again as I'm still on chicken duty (parents back from holiday tomorrow and I can't wait!!) but had a nice fuzzy feeling at being closer to my 1 stone lost
Hope you all have a good weigh in folks!Sad because you don't know what to do? Comping question? Take a look in the Comping Guide to find out0 -
