Hello all, 1st joined your thread in February weighing in at 12st 10lb. Embarrassed to admit that since then I have out on another half a stone weighing in at 13st 3lb now:eek: . So now is the time to get my bum into gear, going to try and do it slimmingworld style as i has always worked before (if I stick to it!), I still have all my books and have noticed that you post the web password on here:j .

As I can't get to the classes at the moment I thought I would post on here regularly too if no-one minds.

    1st target - 3lbs

I put the diet onhold for the last 3 weeks because I've had my finals at university. I think it's a proven fact that sugar is a revision necessity.
So I'm delighted that I've managed to stay the same weight over the exams. :D .
I was sure that I'd have put some weight on as I rediscovered cake :o !
So now all I need to do is get back on the wagon and start loosing weight again.
Hope everyone else is doing well

Thanks for the password elona :) I've been a bit busy since a week ago on Friday as I've had my boyfriend over visiting again... Only a few more months then hopefully he'll have finished his Masters and will be over here for good!

Managed to maintain weight over the last week as bf has been making me some lovely salads for my lunch box and in the evening we have been sticking to slimming world rules but with a Snickers ice cream bar or some other naughty as afters - but it has been fun! :)

Let's hope that the nice weather is here to stay as then it is much easier to stick to rabbit food! ;) Good luck all!
Sad because you don't know what to do? Comping question? Take a look in the Comping Guide to find out

Ok,, so I reckon that a lot of you on here use Slimming World as I keep seeing the password etc.

I am fed up of getting nowhere with my casual self-do-it diet so I think I will bite the bullet and joint my nearest S.W club - is it good? What happens at a meeting? there seems to be a lot of good publicity about people that have lost weight with S.W. so I figure it can work.

Was trying to not do a weekly club (how much do you have to pay?) as I have already paid for a years membership at the Gym. But I NEED to do something about it now, I have just been away for three days and put on four lbs !!! My 2 weeks summer hols in France is looming up and I am hoping that I can be into a PROPER diet by then that is relatively easy to stick to while on holiday.

Sorry for all the questions but I need a little tinsy winsy push in the direction of my local S.W club...:o

I have been watching this discussion for ages and trying to pluck up the courage to admit that I too have a weight problem. I am not really a negative person but at the moment I feel that I am really out of control and need some encouragement to address this weight thing.

I am desperate and need to lose to at least 3 stones and too embarassed to sign up for a class - I just know that if I got weighed and found out what my actual weight was I would lose heart completely and become even more depressed. I think and hope that I am not too much above 14 stones but not sure and I would like to try and get a good bit off myself before I go to a class or even get on a scales. I have tried weight watchers some years ago and lost 2 stones but then put it all back on. The slimming world diet looks interesting and I have used the password and tried to follow it online but it is difficult without the books. I am going to give it a try but can someone please explain what H, HH,S & C means against the free foods please. .

I should be really grateful for any advice with this. Thanks

    Ria

H means it is a healthy choice

F means it is full of fibre

S means it is a speed food for slimming

    SS superspeed food

A and B choice is milk, cheese etc.

C choice is meat or fish on a green day

or potatoes, pasta etc on an original day.

    Hope this helps.

Hi Ria, welcome to the 'need to lose at least 3 stones' club!

I know it's scary, but I really would recommend that if you absolutely can't face the scales, you measure yourself and write it down somewhere with the date. Otherwise you might try and try and try and not FEEL any better, and not KNOW whether you have lost any weight anyway! But I would go for the scales as well, because it can take a long time for the tape measure to change, whereas it IS possible for the scales to show 1lb or 2 quite quickly.

Also if you are feeling depressed and out of control, is it worth seeing your GP? Or at least phoning the surgery to see if any help is offered with weight loss? We think (from previous posters) that Exercise on Prescription is supposed to be nationally available if you think that would help. I don't like the E word (or the D word, come to that): but I am sure that the key to weight loss is to Move More and Eat Less! (Actually the Moving More also seems to help keep my blood pressure down: it's been creeping up and I was blaming the tin of chocolates brought into work on Monday, but a long walk last night seems to have helped!)

Walking is my 'movement of choice': at your own pace, in your own time. If you want company and don't have any, see if there's a local Walking Group! I've been on a few walks with a group near work and they are very friendly, no pressure to do a route march, trained walk leaders. Walking the Way to Health is the website.

And FWIW, I lost a stone in 6 months. I haven't radically changed what I eat, too much like hard work for me! But I've been eating slightly less, consciously trying to stay away from the biscuit tin and hit the fruit bowl instead, and trying to move more. Very slowly, with ups and downs, off it went, with me determined to maintain it and not yo-yo. So far, so good. The next half stone has been very stubborn, don't know why, probably because I've had a lot of stresses and other things to worry about. But that first stone is NOT going back on again! And that's my priority, to maintain where I've got to, not to lose another 4lb by next Wednesday.

Good luck, let us know how you're getting on, good or bad!
