I was quite delighted with my weigh in on Saturday. I chose Saturday because I can do all the measurements then too without worrying about being late for work. I also chose Saturday because I'd weighed myself before going away last weekend and had already lost 3lb on my return. This weekend there was another 1lb added to that, which meant a 4lb weight loss in one week - not good for long term weight loss, but a satisfactory significant drop for the first week.

However ... fool that I am, I jumped on the scales this morning - and had put 2lb back on! That'll teach me for not waiting until a week is up.

How can that be, though? We've been too hot to eat over the weekend, drank loads of water and squash, so are nicely hydrated, maybe munched on an ice loll - that's a whole, single ice loll for the whole weekend, and then it was a low calorie/fat/point rocket lolly - and lived on salads.

Sorry for missing the 't' out of my weight loss resources link, but thanks to SavvySue for finding it.

Good luck at Weight Watchers, Rachie. That was the only other place I had success at before, but we didn't have one locally when when we moved here.

I'm not good with the heat either - just remember that you should still eat something to keep your metabolism ticking over, little and often.

I have has the blinds and curtains shut too, fans on - my 3 year old asked yesterday "Mummy its not bedtime? I've just had breakfast!"

I've got a big tummy too. I didn't lose all the weight from having my 3 tear old before getting pregnant again. DS2 is 9 months old now and I have a little bit of an "apron". I know it's not just going to take dieting but a lot of stomach crunches to disguise it a little. It hadn't crossed my mind about a tummy tuck - but to be honest I am a bit of a wuss anyway!!

I have been making my own lollies out of squash and water(low cal stuff) so I don't feel I am missing out!!!

Does anyone know the slimming world password for this week please? I am starting to look more like Mr Blobby every day so I have decided to do something about it starting from now!
I am trying to compile a menu at the moment, but I have forgotten the sin values for most things now.
    Thanks

VickyA, Looks like we're a similar weight with a similar target, I went to WW tonight and weighed in a 12stone 8lbs much to my horror!! The leader suggested that I aim for 11 stone as a target so that at least would be 'okay' if I got there and after that would be even better!!

Likabu, having had two caesarians in 2004 (not what I would have chosen at all - and was very very nervous at both) I reckon I'll be okay going for the tummy tuck, its not meant to be quite as bad and even tho the c-sections were horrid I got through them!

WW was okay tonight, only stayed for the weigh in and then went but the fact I actually know how much I weigh has given me motivation to weigh less next week!! Well, we'll see huh! The amount that you have to pay to get weighed is absolutely disgusting but if it means that I get rid of this hoooge belly then its got to be done.... :( .... here goes nothing!

    Hi Rachie!

I'm dreading weighing myself this weekend. Although I've been very good recently (due to lack of cash and therefore lack of chocolate!), I'm just desperate to lose weight for my wedding. I really need to lose most of it before I start dress buying later this year.

I used to go to Rosemary Conley, which was excellent however, I just can't afford it at the mo. And I dreaded lining up to be weighed! Hopefully I'll go back when I get a job (any one know of primary schools that desperately need a teacher? :D).

I'm in a dilemma about what diet to do. I'm about 12 & 1/2 stone, not long had baby, not got very much get up & go at minute, any recommendations?

I have done slimming world, rosemary connely & ww before. Stuck to Rosemary connelly longest as I loved the exercise but can't go to class as baby breastfeeding and is at time of feed.

Oh & I'm now a veggie and have never been on diet as veggie before. Any ideas?

jenpoptab, I am a vegetarian (have been for about 20 years) and one of the hardest things I find about dieting is the lack of choice, I bought a recipe book called 'vegetarian slimming' by a lady called Rose Elliot (an excellant author of vegerarian cookery books) (see here) and also one from weight watchers (see http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0684821028/qid=1119618825/sr=1-3/ref=sr_1_2_3/202-4622136-9453453) The WW one I bought is no longer in stock but it seems they have a new one (see here)

I also have a small baby and no energy whatsoever so I know how you feel, you just have to do whatever you can and give it 100% of whatever you've got. Personally I've got no energy for excercise at the moment so am going to try walking a couple of times a week but not beat myself up if i dont get time to do it, generally just gonna start by eating healthier for the moment, don't overdo it if you are breastfeeding though as you obviously need to keep up your strength!

Good luck & let me know if I can help? Perhaps you, me and VickyA should all try and see who can get to 12 stone first? I have the furthest to go to get there!!

maybe that's a good idea to do it between the 3 of us, and see how well we can do.

Only thing is that I need to weigh myself after she has had good breast feed as that loses a few pounds straight away, so difficult to know my real weight.

Thanks for offer of help. I may look at GI as hubby done this and found he liked it.

Count me in! But after the 1.5 choccy bars that I had last night then I think it's me that's got the furthest to go.

It'll be my first weighing on Sunday morning. Wish me luck for then!
