Well done Mary, before I finished reading your post I was going to tell you not to panic about not losing straight away, but seeing you've decided to stay put well done for that too. I think we get too fixated about weight, which I know is one reason I've put off losing it for so long, because I don't want to bore for England on the subject. You'll know if your clothes get too tight, stay happy for now.
And well done VixxAnn, slimmer of the week, eh! I was going to join a SW class, but then my Wednesday evenings were sabotaged. Must take a proper look at the website.
Welcome spendaholic, yup, walking is excellent, have you found any local walking groups? Walking the Way to Health Initiative is one place to look.
And likabu, yes, going the long way round is one way of getting your 10,000 steps in each way, and getting the kids used to walking when they're young is a very good idea.
And my news? Well this morning the scales first told me I'd put on almost half a stone  (in less than a week), then they bounced down to 10st 11lb (I wish!), then back up again to 12st 7lb - and then they said the battery was low!Got a new one today but I'll leave it a few days before I risk it again ...
Am going into hospital in a month's time, so determined to do my 10,000 steps EVERY day from now until then in the hope that I can lose half a stone. It helps keep my blood pressure down too!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

I may also re-subscribe to https://www.weighlossresources.co.uk as I found them very good, totally unbiased, and the website has improved a lot since the last time I was with them (before we moved).

Well there's no point skipping the starter if you don't at least LOOK at the sweet trolley, is there?
On the plus side I decided that leaving the draw cord on my trousers hanging down to my knees probably wasn't very stylish, so cut about 8" off. I used not to have to worry about tying them up at all, but now if I don't do them really tight they fall down.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

From which you'll gather I've been to have a look, but it's too late to try and take it all in! Will try again soon ...Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Been quite a coward recently, as I had a bad week food wise so decided to skip an official weigh in last week and tried really hard this week. I did do an 'unofficial' jump on the scales, close one eye, peek, gasp in horror then leap off again kind of weigh in & when I compare that to this mornings figure, I have lost 5 ponds this week! (But bare in mind that it is undoing a lot of bad food choices from the week before.... Snickers ice cream tastes simply divine - even with 4 in a packet on a BOGOF offer in Sainsburys, but it is directly from weight loss hell when you end up scoffing all 8 in one weekend
)
So this is crunch time for me, I have to knuckle down and get back to where I was on December 1st 2004 as it feels like I have wasted this last, om my word - 6 months!!!
Red day today so having some barbecued meat with a huge portion of salad to fill me up. This is where I wish that you could purchase will power in the shops!
Good luck for this week folksSad because you don't know what to do? Comping question? Take a look in the Comping Guide to find out0 -

I've had a very bad Friday night (perfect pizza and Hagen Daaz) and have continued eating rubbish today. Would normally say to myself that I'll start again on Monday but no, tomorrow I'm going to do a green day (and stick to it).
I too lack willpower, but I have done it before (lost the weight) and there is nothing to stop me (or anyone else) from doing it again. I need a kick up the backside, which I have had, and a bit of determination.
The weather being as warm and humid as it is makes me want to do it all the more. Being hot and sticky isn't nice at the best of times!!!Savvy_Sue wrote:I used not to have to worry about tying them up at all, but now if I don't do them really tight they fall down.
I bet that's a great feeling?!
Hope everyone is doing well.

Thats what im like, the week will start off really well but by Thursday I lack the willpower, and give in to just eating whatever is around. I eat when im bored and as im stuck at home it makes it worse. When I had a job (not when I was working at Pizza Hut tho) I had something to do/focus on more.I remember when this was just a little website! :money:0 -
I'm going to join you lot, if you don't mind. I need to have a concerted effort on losing weight for my wedding in July 2006 and just to feel generally better about myself. I'm sitting at my computer and my stomach looks like I'm pregnant (definitely am not!). I've been drinking water today like it's going out of fashion.

Okay so this is the first step I guess! Hope its okay to join in??
I need to lose about 3 stone (I think although don't own any scales!) so am going to join Weight Watchers this week have managed to find that there is a free registration voucher on the WW website so at least thats a little bit MSE'ing!! Have always thought of WW as a waste of money but I can't keep looking like this no more so will try anything at the moment!!! Had two babies last year and it shows - got a grrreat big belly left over ;( Have asked GP if I can have a tummy tuck as I know two people who have had em due to C-Sections and he says I need to lose weight before he'll consider it.... so.... am rubbish at dieting but something has got to be better than stuffing my face - eeek!!Official DFW Nerd 2100
