I weighed myself this morning............. and I weigh 12st 6lbs! I've put ON one pound. Grrrrr. Ok, so I had some chocolate, but surely everyone is entitled to a little treat? Or not. I am eating alot more fruit and veg, though, and drinking water like no body's business!Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0

 Bad weekend, weighed myself this morning and 2lb on, feeling really down but I've only got myself (and my lack of willpower) to blame!
This week will be better:think:

What does this mean? (Linda's below comment), please.
I have made the descission today to lose weight. I have only ever been on a diet once before in my life. I lost 3 stone, with Slimming world, about 7yrs ago.
Being lazy, it has all come back now, so I'd like to get rid of it again. I found the Slimming World diet dead easy (that's why I ask about Linda's bit below).
I just need to get back to diet mentality, which everyone knows...............isn't easy or much fun, unless of course the weight falls off!
I have 3 stone to lose. I'd love to do it by November, when my son is getting married.
Am I being realistic? Is that to much to soon guys?

jenpoptab, I have found this information re: veggie dieting - hope this helps??
VickyA, hows it been since the chocolate incident?? have you been good??
Also, if anyone is interested I found this site with loads of good info on it relating to the WW points system and especially values of things such as Pizza hut meals or chinese takeaways!!
LL, I'm not sure if that weight loss is possible/healthy to be honest but I'm no expert, I think it would mean losing about 2.3lbs a week for 18 weeks which is attainable as I think on the WW plan they recommend about 1 to 2lbs a week?? So if you stick to it rigidly and do excercise it might be possible! I'd love to lose that much in that time!!
I think i'm doing quite well but don't want to get too pleased before I go to the weigh in tomorrow night!!Official DFW Nerd 2100 -

Best of luck for your weight-in Rachie.
I've been quite good since the chocolate incident. However, I've just had a rogue piece of toast. Spag bol for supper tonight with loads and loads of veggies in to bulk it all out! I call that healthy (sort of), but it was made with very lean beef mince from the local butcher, so I can feel good about supporting local businesses. (honest)
Going for a curry tomorrow night as some friends are over for the weekend. I'll check that WW points thing and see what I'm "allowed". Probably best starve myself during the day too!Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -
I've found that the best thing to lose weight and maintain it is the simple and old fashioned eat healthily and in moderation (with lots of fresh fruit and veg, white meat rather than red, and smaller servings of carbs, cutting out snacks), and at set times a day, and GETTING EXERCISE. Forget all the fad diets and Weight Watchers, instead substitute an apple or other fruit for crisps/chocolate, take the dog for a walk, walk instead of catching the bus/driving, use your gym membership instead of paying Weight Watchers, and forget all the fad diet rubbish, which works short term but never in the longrun. If you want to keep the weight off, you need to change your mindset and attitude to food and your health. Lecture over.0

Goodness, after a year of using these forums I have finally found the thread for weight loss! Can I join you? I had a depressing sort through my wardrobe today and found lots of clothes that don't fit. I have put on about a stone over the last year and would really welcome some friendly support in loosing weight.0

Blimey goindoin that was a long sentance!! Sorry I've just looked back and it was three sentances but I must have forgot to breath at the right places!
I think what you are saying is very sensible advice and practically sounds exactly what they say in the weight watchers books. You are right losing weight is all about the attitude that you take to food and mindset and I've never wanted to go to weight watchers before due to its cost but to be honest some things in life aren't quite as easy as they seem and I have found the guidance and regular weigh in system a boost to my motivation so I'm going to stick with it thank-you. I don't have a gym membership, nor a dog and I can't really go on the bus with two tiny children to get my shopping etc or go to work via the childminders, it would take me hours! oh and i dont eat read meat or even white meat as it comes to it.... I take it that you don't have much problem with your weight (and by that I mean that you need to lose 3 stone or over)? or possibly you've never had kids? I dont know, I'm only sumising, just like you were when you came on here putting down the methods we have chosen to lose weight. If you dont want to lose weight and dont want to be supportive then why have you posted?? Sorry, you have upset me slightly. Lecture over.Official DFW Nerd 2100
