Placing a "deposit" on a car you have never seen is an invitation to be scammed.
start a charge-back with the credit card company immediately, cancel all family stuff until its done.

    My research shows:-

Their shefield address is up for rent

    ww
    w.
    markjenkinson.
    co.
    uk
    /commercial-property/display/UNIT%205%20WESTBROOK%20COURT,%20SHARROW%20VALE%20ROAD,%20SHEFFIELD,-%7C-80

Looking at the address history on Equifax (if anyone wants a copy of the report let me know, includes directors address!) it has over a dozen CCJ's against it with a number of company names!

Company has been around for a few years under a few Autofinders names but current one doesnt show as disolved:-

    ht
    tp
    ://
    wck2.
    companieshouse.
    gov.
    uk/
    2cd439eacc23a970c8ed1b52d236dde6/companysearch?disp=1&frfsh=1341392400&#result

Company year end is November so will most likely disolve then

My credit card company has been informed and are going through the process of claiming back the deposit. Still a bit wary about the 12 week contractual agreement with Autofinders but the CC company feel it wont be an issue!

    Cheers

Looks like no new car for me too.
I have had this reply from Trading Standards
I am responding to your enquiry about the status of the above trader.
We have been having similar problems contacting the company, I believe they may have ceased trading.
Their Derby Road premises seem to be closed and there was no sign of activity when we visited them. However, their registered office is now in Sheffield at:
    5 Westbrook Court
    Sharrow Vale road
    Sheffield
    South Yorkshire
    S11 8YZ,
which may be at an accountants or solicitors.
Your best course of action may be to claim a refund of your deposit through your credit card company or bank. The directors home addresses are in the public domain should you which to pursue your complaint.

If you have a Visa Debit card then Visa insists that your bank extends the same rights to you as if you paid with a Visa Credit Card:

    http://www.money.co.uk/article/1004510-is-debit-card-protection-the-same-as-for-credit-cards.htm

If you paid by Mastercard then you may have similar rights.

Of course some bank clerks will insist that this isn't true and fob you off. The easiest way to deal with this is:

    (1) By telephone to ask for the call to be recorded if it isn't already, and to ask for the clerks full name and that you will be invoking a complaint against them and recommend they be withdrawn until they are retrained.

    (2) In person at a bank, if the clerk refuses then ask for the refusal to be put in writing.

Logbook arrived today after I had to apply to the DVLA myself for it. I am even the first registered keeper, which is an unexpected bonus.

Lesson learned - never again will I use online brokers to buy new cars. These were highly respected in the business and I had nothing but trouble with them from beginning to end.

The Sheffield address is for Sutton McGrath, a firm of accountants.

Maybe they will know what is happening to Autofinders.

I went past the Chesterfield office the other day and they had cars outside.
