Autofinders (Bakewell)Ltd

Can anyone give any info on this company as my uncle has ordered a car from them some 7 weeks ago and has had no contact apart from when he phones to enquire but he always seem to get no info as to the timespan of the cars arrival, he paid a small deposit by credit card and they gave him a four week estimated delivery time, he tried to phone them today and no answer not sure why a garage would not answer.

Thanks for any help

They are a broker not a garage. By all accounts they're generally well respected. What car did you uncle order?

They were based on an industrial estate in Bakewell. Riverside Business Park, Buxton Road, Bakewell, Derbyshire DE45 1GS
Telephone: 01629 814985 Don't know if they are still trading from there.

There is now an office in Chesterfield, which is trading. 01246 221191

    Hi

Have you had any luck contacting them? I am in a similar position althought they have contacted me to say my car is ready but I cannot get back in touch with them to arrange collection - they never answer the phone
  • A bit worried. I ordered a vehicle from them some time ago but have now decided to cancel (13+ months). I've sent numerous emails and made numerous telephone calls and have had no reply. Phone goes to answer phone.

There does appear to have been some major changes in directorship. Also quite a lot of office kit is on their ebay site. This sounds a little concerning to me.

If anyone gets anywhere with getting in touch, please post here...

    Thanks
    Concerned.

Maybe time to contact your card provider for a chargeback.

Maybe they are a bit busy

    Hi

I am in the same boat, ordered a Qashqai for my Wife for her 40th Birthday back at the end of May 2012 from the Chesterfield site. I checked the review sites and saw one site with 63 reviews with 4 out of 5 stars so looked good. A few said the comunications between ordering and collecting was poor but most were happy.

I had a number of emails back and forth to arrange the car type and spec. Finalised over the phone and paid a £600 deposit by credit card and received an invoice/contract which I had to sign and return. Forwarded a signed copy and then received an email reply of thanks for your custom with login and password to the vehicle update page and a 6 week lead time.

Vehicle update login and password did not work staright away so left it as it was abit early. Tried it 3 weeks into the 6 week term and it still didnt work. Since then I have emailed them with a number of emails from different accounts and tried to phone them a number of times a day only getting to talk to an answer phone with the same message.

My wife did manage to get in touch with a lady early last week as they phoned my wife after receiving a missed call but was told to use the vehicle update page. At the time she did not know about the login page and the details not working.

Getting very worried now as its week 5 with zero comunication.

Looking at the address in Google earth and going to street level there is a small car HIFI shop with a garage at the back. I have tried the car HIFI website but this doesnt work. Will try and call the HIFI shop tomorrow to see if a. it still exists and b. they know anything about Autofinders. I know google steet map is a few years old so I am assuming Autofinders took it over recently?

    Anyone shed more light?

    Cheers

    Neal :(
