    I got my £100 payment today! :)

I have my main current account with Nationwide (salary and all DDs come in and out of it) so set up some fictional standing orders with another dormant current account and asked these to be switched. I can confirm this works as far as the offer goes.

So, contrary to some earlier posts, you can still qualify for this offer even if your Nationwide account is your "main account".

Does anyone know whether you have to transfer ALL the DDs and SOs on your old account to Nationwide? I only want to transfer a couple, and leave all DDs for bills etc on my old account. Is this possible? (I will be transferring my salary)
(I will be going to ask in branch but can only do this on a saturday morning, doh, so thought I would ask here first).

I asked something similar in my branch. Basically, they want you to make the Flex account your main bank account, and so would want you to transfer over all your DDs, SOs, etc. If you keep a couple with your old bank, OK, but if most of them are not transferred they are unlikely to give you the money.

This is interesting! So you didnt have to open a new current account at all then? I have a dormant account that would welcome a few standing orders to be moved over to Nationwide if this is the case.

Does anyone have any feedback on how long it takes Nationwide to transfer the account from another bank? My FlexAccount has been open for a fortnight but I've heard nothing about account switching - I queried this with customer service and they just confirmed that the switch hadn't happened yet.

I had 2 SO for £10 each, one DD for £1 (to a savings acc), moved my TV license DD and setup a new DD to pay one of my credit cards. (the latter two DDs haven't even left my previous account) .Received the incentive on the day they moved the SOs - the DDs are still 'in transit'.

sarahlord - have you sent back the filled account transfer form? The account transfer team at nationwide can be reached on 01793 656 655 - check directly with them what is the status of your transafer.

    Yes!

I set up a couple of annual standing orders for £1 starting on 31/12/2007 and got these moved across. Hey presto, £100 :)

My partner has a nationwide Cash ISA so qualifies for this offer. MY Q is can we switch her sole account to a joint nationwide account to also include myself (I'm not a customer).

    Thanks

Well i tried to do the above and have received the account transfer form. It says

"An existing Joint account can only be transferred into a Joint FlexAccount in the same names as the origianl account, however an existing Joint account can be transferred to a Sole FlexAccount."

So can 1 sole become 1 joint?
  • I have just checked my new flex account balance and i had the £100 paid in on the 16th April:j From start to finish that took approx 3 weeks. However i am still waiting for them to transfer from my existing current account.

Big thanks again to the OP, as without this thread i wouldn't have known about the offer
