  • Do you know what? Since I've not been posting due to lack of time I feel as though we've gone right off the rails!!! I 'treated' myself to a new waterproof jacket the other day under the premise i'll need it for the lake district  Also bought a couple of other unecessary bits :mad:

I need to start posting more regularly again as you all help keep me under control :D Must tighten our belts until payday as I don't want to end up back in the overdrafts after managing to clear them!

Doggy insurance is up for renewal too so just about to search for a cheaper deal. Its gone up £4 per month! Doesn't sound a lot does it so I suppose they think you'll just renew but is almost £50 a year on a £250 policy!!! Wish me luck...

  • Hi!!

I'm still here...just! Thank you for reading Aamberle, your continued support means a lot. You too Sista! I am going to find both your diaries after this.

A quick update... well work is still mental and we're still well and truly off the money saving wagon. In fact, it feels like the wagon is moving so fast we might never get back on :(

The dog is sick today so had to have the vet out which cost £90 we didn't really have  but he was in a bad way and thought it cruel to leave him til tomorrow. He's got some painkillers and antibiotics now so looks a little brighter :)

Work still haven't paid my expenses so I questioned it and found they only pay at the end of the month. In my previous job they always paid within 10 days of submission of the claim which was great. Waiting on nearly £500 now so that will be a big help when it arrives.

I'm back in my overdraft too  Have a small bonus coming which might be in this month I think so hoping that will clear it.

Just going to do some sums for next months budget.

    Squidge x

  • Well...I am sat at the table eating spaghetti hoops on toast (very MSE :rotfl:)and gawping at the laptop - Ha I feel like a student again! I bought myself a cheeky cream cake on the way home from work, DH would not be impressed...but luckily he's at the gym

Cake and forums are my guilty pleasures :D

Looked at the budget last night and its not as bad as I thought. DH is getting a small bonus this month, maybe £250 and I'm getting about the same so although we have car tax and bits due we should be ok.

The thought of the bank holiday weekend will get me through this week. We're planning to do another car boot, can't wait!! Fingers crossed for as much success as last time!

Hope everyone is doing ok xxxx

  • Been on holigogs and have just sat and caught up on your thread (bit of a scary lurker type normally!).

SCP - when my job gets all busy and general life gets really full of stuff to do, I find it so much easier to wander off the wagon. I just feel as if there isn't time to think about MSE ways and old habits creep up on me. Then, I feel a bit pants and give myself a talking to. Then, I get right back on the wagon and drive the rest of the family bonkers with my penny pinching! :D

Good luck with the boot sale. Fingers crossed for sunshine!

Hey MoneyMission :hello: Hope you enjoyed your holigogs. You have hit the nail on the head - it is so easy to fall back into bad habits when time is short, I'm glad it's not just me! I am still being a bit carp at the moment but hope to get right back on it in the next two weeks.

Rain here today so no car boot but have caught up on household jobs and things that there is never time for like taking all the glass to the bottle bank and taking some old rubbish not even fit for the car boot to the dump. Have some work to do now but hope to get chance to nosey at diaries later :D
