Morning SCP - For my 10p's worth - I would go to the Lakes.

Thanks :) That's exactly what we've decided to do! Going to book a nice b&b over the weekend. I'm terrible though, one bad review on trip advisor and I'm convinced the whole place is a dump :rotfl:Where do you stay Aamberle? Is there anywhere you would recommend?

Another boring day here :( DH has gone to see a friend about a 3D t.v (watching, not buying thank god :rotfl:) so am home alone. What to do...

Morning SCP - I would sign up to secret escapes and see what deals they offer - failing that I randomly just pick a hotel :rotfl: Some are good, some are excellent and some are not so good.

The way i look at it is - I am away XX

    Anyway hope your well x

I stay in places like Grange over Sands, Kendall..but I avoid Windemere, it is beautiful to visit the lake etc but seems to be a bit more expensive than staying just outside there..

    Have fun finding somewhere xx

We've booked somewhere! It's just on the edge of Windermere and looks stunning - so excited. Spent a bit more than planned (I am too embarrased to say how much) but it will not go on the credit card and you've got to have a few treats along the way. I did join secret escapes on Saturday after seeing the t.v ad but the only deal in the lakes was already fully booked for our dates. (We can't be flexible because of work :() I'm amazed how quickly it gets booked, alot of the nice b&b's were already full months in advance!

Not looking forward to work this week as know it's going to be hectic :(:( but payday in two days :):) and with hsbc we'll be able to see tomorrow how much is going to get paid in! Can't wait!!

Sun is out, have a great day all

Wow! Just sat down and read your whole thread! Have sore eyes but lots of R.E.S.P.E.C.T, what a journey so far!

Just an idea, but for little people's presents for bdays/christmas thebookpeople.com is FABULOUS! I stock up on sets of say Julia Donaldson (£10 for 10 books, RRP about £70! then take 2/3 out of pack - lovely present for not much money! For older children, box sets of 10 Michael Morpurgo for £12, bargain. - £1.20 a book - hehe I would prob be happy to receive a pressie like that myself! Go via Quidco, and get more money back too!!!!!

Well done for all your achievements so far!!!!

Hey Joee, glad to see you are still here - this board has really kept me going. Lots of hard work still to do but we are getting there slowly and (sssh don't tell anyone but) am quite enjoying it.

FINALLY, payday tomorrow! Can't wait to make some payments and update my signature. Have already paid mbna all but a few quid of the minimum for this month so anything paid now will be a bonus. Will have to wait til tomorrow evening though as work is madness at the moment. I'd like to go under £40k this month but don't think we will manage it now we've booked minibreak as need to keep enough back to pay for that.

Our grocery spend is slowly creeping back up too so need to keep that in check. I love how all our friends and family suddenly want to come for dinner as soon as we start tightening our belts :rotfl:

Off to get an early night tonight. Happy humpty day for tomorrow stars-shower-smiley.gif

  • Evening all ;)

Not logged on properly for a while as absolutely snowed with work at the moment :( Just need to get through the next couple of weeks and things should relax again.

Had a little bit of good news today though, the elusive water bill arrived and was £97 for 6 months!!! Can't believe it, was expecting a huuuuge bill so very pleased. Bit worried they've got it wrong but not going to phone and ask :p will just pay it and keep quiet. I suppose there is only 2 of us!

Not much else has happened, we've been rather boring :D Off to have a nice bath now and get ready for another day...hope everyone else is enjoying the olympics and (finally!) the lovely summer-ness.
