Have you ever thought of letting your OH's running the finances? Let them see the full picture in black and white.

I keep hearing of what they are doing, but is it any different from what they were doing before YOU had your LBM? And are all your problems solely down to them or are they paying for your errors in the past?

Rome wasn't built in a day and mentalities don't change that quickly either

Thanks for reading my diary Stewil :) You're right, Rome wasn't built in a day and I know changes take time but perhaps I was hoping to see a little more progress.

Don't misunderstand me, I'm in no way suggesting that our problems are solely down to DH or solely my fault either. We have both got into debt - holidays, expensive hobbies, going out, I bought shoes, he bought cd's and games etc... we are both paying for being reckless when we were younger.

DH did actually used to pay the household bills, run the finances etc but we found it didn't work well for us. He is fully aware of the situation but if he goes to the bank and sees £200 then he will just think "oh I can spend £200" as opposed to "I have a DD coming out of £150 so I can spend £50".

  • :hello:Hello Aamberle

Not been around much this week as just been exhausted with getting back into the routine of work and running the house. I don't even work long hours now compared to the 70+ hrs a week I used to do in my previous job - I don't know how I ever managed it!!!

Not much to report on the debt busting front :( things are pretty much at a standstill til payday. We're slightly over on our food budget for the month, maybe £20 which is a bit disappointing but have had an awful lot of visitors this month! I have some expenses to claim back at work so that should cover the shortfall hopefully.

Not sure quite how much to expect in my first pay packet so can't really plan at the moment. Also, work have said I will really need a car for my role probably after Christmas so need to plan for how we are going to manage it. Hopefully we can get together enough savings to buy a cheapy little car as all the lease options look very expensive and I'm wary of h.p while we're still trying to claw our way out of debt.

Was a bit naughty today and bought a new linen basket (oh the dizzy heights of my life :rotfl: someone reign me in!!) but was sick of the washing spilling out of our old broken one. Other than that a cheap weekend.

    Here comes another week....x

  • Hello SCP. Is the DH Bubble a magical expanding one? Can MR MM join the other DH's in there? He is totally up there with not having a clue / surely a Costa is not too much / I work hard so I'm going to buy something carp / can I have a new car! :rotfl:The last one really does my head in as he wants a little two seater sportscar thing. And we're a family of four!!! So, if there is room in DH Bubble land - can I send him on in please??

PS. Loving your thread - keep going.

Hi SCP - Keep going you are doing so well..:D Hope work is good..

And MM I think the bubble is big enough for MrMM as long as he doesn't bring the car..lol. Although i am sure that if you ask the other DH's the car would fit along with the costa machine..:rotfl:

    Have a good evening

Remember to plan some treats though, otherwise you might get resentful and end up having a blow out!

    Have a good day :)
