Hurrah, first week at work done :jDH had the afternoon off today so came and picked me up for lunch. We went to...Mcdonalds :rotfl:Spent about £8 out of the grocery budget as I haven't been putting aside any 'treat' money - maybe I should start keeping a little bit though? Cant be a MSE all the time
DH had his opticians app. today too and he doesn't need glasses after all so that's good on the £ front but is being referred to a specialist as has a problem with the pressue in his eyes? Bit worried but they did say it's completely fixable.
Received another £40 from dwp today - not sure why but good with me.
A really weird thing has happened with mbna too - the min. payment is supposed to be 3.5% of the statement balance (i think) but even though we paid about £5500 in total this month which cleared before the statement date the minimum payment for next month is almost as much as it was before. Doesn't really matter as planning to try and pay more anyway but just wondered why it might be?
Got to do sometonight as friends descending in the morning :j:j:j
Best get on.

Could it be that you paid off the lump sum after they did the number crunching? I sometimes find that if I pay something after a certain date, it'll not make any difference to the min payment.
Sorry, i don't think that makes much sense does it? I'm sure someone who is more intelligible at this time on a friday night will be along!!!Debt free in

That was my first thought mummy but then usually the min. payment is just a percentage of the closing statement balance? Or perhaps my brain has turned off for the weekend!
Anyway, hope you've had a good day?[STRIKE]£49,129[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£[/STRIKE][STRIKE]43,012 [/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£42,209[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£40,823[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£39,866[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£25,960[/STRIKE]£21,338 _party_

I will apologise in advance for this negative post but had to log on to rant as am absolutely livid with DH!!!!!!!!! I think I may have smoke coming from my ears :mad::mad:
Checked all the accounts as I always do just to see that we're on budget and haven't gone overdrawn anywhere etc (made DH give me his online login) and spotted £50 withdrawn yesterday while DH was away. The conversation went like this:
Me: "What's this payment for £50?"
DH: "Oh yeh I bought lunch yesterday"
Me: "Oh right, how much have you got left over?
DH: "Nothing" *looks sheepish*
Me: "So lunch cost you £50?!"
DH: Well I bought lunch for everyone.."
Me: $£%&"!!!!
Here I am watching every penny - I mean, why am I even bothering?! I may as well just go straight to the pub and get the whole bloody bar a drink in!!! ARGH!Morning SCP - I don't know I am away from here for a couple of days and your signature drops in size dramatically...:j:j Go You!!!

Hope you have a great Sunday xx
:rotfl:Thanks Aamberle, I am really trying but as you can see am thwarted by DH at every turn :rotfl: So much for him being on board the frugal train...*subscribes*

Oh no
. Naughty hubby. Is he aware how angry you are? And how much effort you're putting in? Perhaps he doesn't realise how serious he is and is in a little hubby bubble (he's probably joined my darling's little bubble. At least they've got each other for company!)

:rotfl:Is there room for another one in that bubble?! I might join them mummy, get away from all this nasty debt!
Read my post back and I know I sound an awful control freak but honestly he makes me so cross spending like there is no tomorrow! Am at a loss as to what to do? We both agreed I would transfer some £ each month to our individual accounts to cover petrol, and dd's etc but he just spends his on carp and then asks for more when he needs to buy petrol to get to work :mad::mad::mad:
Have to come up with a better plan...[STRIKE]£49,129[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£[/STRIKE][STRIKE]43,012 [/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£42,209[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£40,823[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£39,866[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£25,960[/STRIKE]£21,338 _party_

I think you need to be a control freak to get thru something like this tbh. I'm exactly the same. I interrogate him if I spot an unrecognized outgoing on the account. But it's what I have to do to make him realise that this is what paying off debt as quickly as possible means.
