  • Hi Grand Benders,

Lovely to hear from you. Sometimes it's nice to have a new face remind you just how far you've come :) and I'm so sorry to hear that you have lost your job. I know how scary it feels especially when you are the main earner in the house but I bet just like us you have changed your mindset completely from what it was prior to your LBM. That fact, along with the support of everyone here will get through whatever work can throw your way I promise. Please don't be despondent and please check in regularly - I for one would love to hear how you are getting on.

    Squidge x

I'm baaaack! Although sadly not in the 21's :o

After a tough few months, we've re-jiggled our debts and now owe:

    HSBC Loan 1 - £15,179.54 ends 1 September 2017
    HSBC Loan 2 - £7,114.40 ends 1 March 2017
    Co-op Loan - £4,383.54 ends 1 August 2015
    Total £26,677.48

Hmm...not pleased the total has gone up but glad that all overdrafts and credit cards are cleared/closed so all the debt has a definite end date now. Also repayments are quite high so the debt ticks down by almost £750 per month which is nice to see!! Will still try to overpay where we can and perhaps bring dates forward.

Hope everyone else is doing well x

Hi SCP - Welcome back!! Missed you - well although your debts have gone up the actual overdrafts and cc's are gone..so all the little additional interest rates that accrue each month have gone...surely that deems :j:j.

Hopefully hear from you soon x

Aaaah thanks Aamberle, feeling the love :o

Feels very strange not to have any cc's I must say. The one we do have left (nil balance) keep calling to see if we would like to transfer any balances over to them. Was so lovely to be able to say that actually we don't have any balances :D

We've also started saving each month and have a little nest egg now which we've never had before so although we fell of the wagon a bit still feel quite proud of us. Hoping to build it up to a deposit for a bigger house...some way off obviously but hey.

I want to have another go on the bay of e this weekend to raise some additional savings but not sure I have too much that I want rid off - not that DH would let me sell anyway (suspect the xbox is off limits :rotfl:). Anyway, onwards and upwards!

    Happy Friday all xxx

  • Well...we had an MSE weekend away with a groupon deal! Managed to do 95% of our Christmas shopping whilst away too (limited gift giving again this year) so feeling pretty chuffed :D Just need to buy cards, wrap and something for DH really.

Still haven't gotten around to sorting through the mountains of clothes and other bits that are currently taking over our bedroom so hopefully can do that this week. Hoping to find some bits for the bay of e to boost the savings.

Also opened a 'proper' savings account today that pays actual interest as opposed to just 1p every six months and have transferred our tiny savings into there so that is a start.

Feeling strangely positive considering the amount of debt we still have would make most people
