Does anyone have any tips for cleaning the oven? It was cleaned by a professional not long ago as we've only just moved in and it was disgusting! And before, I've always left it that little bit too long and had to use something like Oven Pride (think that's what it's called). So any tips for keeping it under control would be great :)

    Hi

I had mine professionally done about a year ago. Since then I buy roasting bags or cover food with a lid. This prevents splashing but happily I've found the roasting bags help retain the juices and make the meat really tender.

It depends what you cook, of course. If we are having something prone to spitting I often grill as it's easier to clean. On the odd occasion I cook uncovered, I try to wipe round whilst the oven is still warm.

Macpep1 - bicarb. sprinkle on when dry, give it a little rub in to get to all the lower fibres, leave a while (overnight if bad?) and hoover up. Should help neutralise the whiff x

Have you tried biological washing power? Could you get one of those puppy training mats to put there if it is one place.

Thanks girls, I will try the bicarb first, I dont use powder Dusty, use liquid in my machine, if bicarb doesn't lift it, I will invest in some :D

Wil rub the bicarb on it when I go home & leave it overnight, my
DH text me telling me he was away to play with my new toy *stomps feet* not fair, I want to go play with it, don't know what he done with it as he is now in bed (nightshift) :rotfl:5pm is a long time coming when you have a new tool to play with

ETA: Just got a text from school, meeting tonight at 7pm to find out more details of the trip DD is going on with the school in August, think I will just send OH :rotfl:

I use bold washing liquid on cat pee, it works really well :jMy cat has had to stay in for 9 weeks now, since a fox bit her tail, and she has gone through various phases of favourite wee-spots, including the wardrobe

    Hi all.

I am around, just up to my ears with stuff to do, so time online is being majorly cut back!

Froddy so sorry to hear about Misty:(
Play well over the Rainbow Bridge, little one.

Mumto5 Ouchy!:( Your poor toe; take care, and do go and get it looked at if it doesn't recover fully very soon.

CY I'm only just catching up with the thread, but hope I'm in time for a few posi-vibes to do your DD2 some good.:o

I've done the kitchen as best I can with an extremely nervous cocker spaniel helping me.:D Bless her, Lottie's scared of her own shadow! But I've managed to Dettox all the sufaces; and Mr LW gave the sink a good scrub yesterday (not sure why he elected to do so, but I shan't complain!)

Poor devil's done something to his back - it went "ping" when he was mowing the grass, so I've been rubbing Tiger Balm on for him, and he's gone to work with a supply of "parrots" in his briefcase in case it starts paining him. Thank the gods I got the bath lift, so he doesn't have to haul me out of the bath anymore!

Also, I've got his wet weather gear on loan again this week - Lottie and I had very wet walkies earlier, so I was very glad of it!

Right, better post this and get on - Lottie's jumping up at me, so I'd better find out what she wants.;) (A game, I expect):D

Well my OH told me he moved her tray to under the stairs & showed her where it is, she went in it straight away & lay down & went to sleep :D:rotfl:. I really do think she is suffering from feline dementia:rotfl:

DS1 is collecting the littlies for me, I managed ok at work but I sit down 98% of the time so it's not surprising. The good news with work is that I am now being paid for the hours I work. I need every penny as I've spent money like water this weekend!

DS1 has unloaded the DW. I should do more ironing but foot hurts. I think I will make an early dinner as it will be another evening dominated by football. DH's company have bought departmental TV's so he's staying at work to watch it.

    Hmmm.... What to cook.....
