Made a lemon cake last night - mum and dad are away and I get the fresh stuff to use up - two lemons - one cake made (and almost all eaten). Very easy all-in-one recipe, too!
Ooh, any chance you could let us have the recipe when you've a moment? Pretty please? I like "very easy" recipes.:D

Washed out today; the headache I've had for the last week finally coalesced into a stonking migraine.:(

However, Mr LW stepped up to the plate and saw to Sidders for me.:A

    Janie's Lemon Cake

    4 oz margarine
    4 oz caster sugar
    6 oz S. R. flour
    2 eggs
    4 tbsp milk
    grated rind of 1 lemon

Put all the ingredients in a bowl. Beat for 3 mins (or use a processor on a lower speed). Turn into a 2lb loaf tin, greased and lined. Smooth level

Bake for 40mins Gas 4 or 180 deg
(test - I find mine needs a few more minutes)
Put tin on rack and allow to cool. While cooling add the juice of the lemon to a pan along with 3 tbsp icing sugar, heat until syrupy, stirring. pr!ck cake and pour lemon syrup over. Leave until cold; turn out, sprinkle with icing sugar.

    swear filter! I ask you!

(or a 6" square tin if no loaf tin)

I intend to try this with orange, one day;)
Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY

Lots to do after a weekend with my parents staying (bedding to wash, spare room to put back together), which involved more cooking than I normally do (DW has been on constantly) but did result in the garden being beaten into submission! Whole house needs a really thorough clean so I need to keep up with the lists next week if I can! Cleaning seems to have fallen out of my routine :o however, the kitchen was blitzed last week, so that will just need a S&S. I have just thrown out all my cake decorating samples which has cleared quite a bit of space in the utility room, so need to have a blitz in there.

Currently meal planning... Not my favourite task...

    Hi all,
Pretty tiring day here. Took tots to my mums yesterday as I was going out for birthday tea with my friends. Then I was staying over at mums too. Well I had too much pear cider, then dd decided she was awake at 4am. I took her downstairs, was quite funny I suppose she was trying to sing the wheels on the bus and I was trying to make her sleep.

    So I'm goosed by now.

My mil left a present for me, it's a scrapbook of my dh, for the children really. It's beautiful, but I cried, and even DS who's not yet 3.5 seemed sad after looking through it. It's been a tough day, but another "first" that we have survived, and still here to tell the tale.

Back home late-ish so just dunked tots and sent to bed, emptied DW, tidied toy pile we left yesterday and got nursery things ready for morning. Have had a shower and I think that's about all I can cope with for tonight.

Blessings to all, especially those who are missing a daddy in their families xxx

Evening all, kids all enjoyed the cinema today. Rhys thought it was great and stuck it out until the end. DD enjoyed the B'day party so all good.

I was hoping they would all be sleeping by now but no such luck.

Flying wise the kitchen isn't looking too bad another HHC should have it nice for the morning. WM on again as is the TD. Kids ready for tomorrow so just kitchen to do and then bed.

    Bossy (((big hugs)))
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.
