No. The neighbour will just wonder why the heck the OP is spending time knocking on peoples doors asking why someone is parked "outside her house" (again no crime in this), and then if they find the "culprit", waiting while they move their car, then the OP moves her car......... rather than spend an extra 20 secs (at a guess) walking from her car to her front door.
Or they will realise what she is long windedly getting at and either move it, or ignore her, but either way she's going to look like a bit of a muppet, and be known as "the crazy woman who doesn't want anyone else parking outside her house" from now until eternity.0 -

No-one owns the space outside their house, no matter how entitled they feel they should be to be able to park there. Only numpties think they are
But you are happy to look an absolute fool on a forum by showing you've neither read nor understood what the OP is asking?0 -
If it were me, I would pop a note in their door explaining the inconvenience they are causing their neighbours but I would do this anonymously because you don't need any possible nastiness this might generate.
The added benefit this may have, is that if they are doing something they shouldn't, such as making money without paying tax or something of the like, it might actually make them stop.
I would also check the tax disc on the 'visitors' cars and if it has expired or if the vehicle registration details do not match those on the disc I would report the vehicle on the DVLA website.
At least you may feel better if you are doing what you can about it.0 -
I know it's not an ideal solution, but could you (OP) keep a folding shopping trolley in the boot of your car, then at least you'd only have to make a couple of trips and it wouldn't be so wearying if you wheeled your shopping to your door instead of having to carry it.
I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

no no no no NO. an anonymous note through the door is even worse than a signed one on the windscreen!
if some one posted a note through my door accusing me of being inconsiderate i would be pretty peeved that they didn't even have the guts to reveal their identity and it certainly wouldn't encourage me to adhere to their request!0 -

No I agree but it might do if they were doing something illegal.0 -

Yes but this is not just about them parking outside their own house.
If this is a regular thing it could be classed as suspicious activity and indeed it is something the OP would be perfectly within her rights to report to the police for their intelligence purposes.
I suggested an anonymous note because the op sounds like she really can't take any more stress.
Either way if I were in her shoes that's what I would do but I'm not of course. You have your opinion and I have mine.0 -

We didn't know who all the cars belonged to. It was different ones every day. We spoke to the neighbours in person, although a car we'd put a note on the previous day belonged to their daughter's boyfriend. I worded it badly.
We don't curtain twitch all day. Unless you are parking at the same time as somebody else then you're unlikely to know which house and which car go together in cases like a kid's boyfriend or a casual visitor.
One more possible solution I just thought of OP is to ask the council if they have a garage nearby that you can rent - it might mean you only have to walk round one corner with your shopping rather than several. Also, you can get buggy weights that stop your buggy from falling over if you have a lot of bags on the back.52% tight0 -

Anyone is within their rights to report anything to the police. Whether they take it seriously (and with good reason), is another matter all together..

Not quite, she mentioned that she was getting a bit annoyed, thats all.Either way if I were in her shoes that's what I would do but I'm not of course. You have your opinion and I have mine.
Yes, fair enough, but my opinion is, and always will be that anonymous notes are just pathetic and are not very likely to get you the result that you are after.0
