No sometimes it's when we are in, heard them lugging the suitcases out from down the road soon as we go out they move the car to nearer their house.
Im lucky that the guy next door is nice, he hasbuilt a drive although not lowered the pavement, and he will always make sure I can park outside and use the pretend drive if he needs to

We have a similar thing in our road. Everyone has a space/spaces or a drive, and there are a couple of places for visitors. One is always taken up by a residents fathers car who lives in Thailand and only visits the uk occasionally (this is SO annoying as the resident has a double drive and only one car so the car could easily be in the drive). The other is 99% of the time taken up by a neighbours car. I have no idea why as she has a space. She doesn't drive to work so this car rarely moves. I wouldn't ever say anything, but it's unbelievable how selfish people can be.

That suggests to me they are being paid to look after the cars so they have moved it to a place where they can keep a better eye on it!

Have you tried searching for the address on one of the parking websites?

Unfortunately OP there is little you can do about your neighbours behaviour. If your road has no parking restrictions then anyone can park along it.

It is a shame that your neighbours cant use a little more consideration. If they suggested their friends parked on their own drive they could park behind them and still come and go as they pleased. This would enable the rest of you in the street to park near to your properties and get on with your day with no added inconvenience.

I have been quite shocked by some of the responses to you on this thread. It is a shame that some posters decided to reply to you in a rude manner and offer no real constructive advice. All that achieved was to make this thread rather unpleasant to read to be honest.
The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.

We have a similar issue in our small street but the problem is with a guy who lives nearby and runs a business from his house. His staff park their work vans either side of the entrance into our street. This is really annoying but even more so as he doesn't even live on our street, he lives opposite on the main road. The parked vans don't directly affect me as I live further down and have my own parking space, but it often prevents access for the dustbin lorry as there isn't enough room to get past them. I know we probably can't do anything about the parked vans but is there anyone we can complain to about the fact that we don't get our bins emptied because of this selfish so and so?

Cause I needed somewhere to live with my daughter, after splitting with my oh and living in my mum's box room with my daughter for 4 months I took the best house the council offered me. Is that good enough for you!

Majority if people I know who don't have a car either just can't be bothered learning or don't work. That isn't even what the post was about, if you wouldn't say anything then fine.

Sorry, but I think its important for you to realise that other people also don't have a choice about their circumstances! You aren't special or unique in not having things 100% the way you want them, or in any other way.

I'd have thought the council should deal with that... I'm surprised the refuse collectors haven't reported it tbh.

Around here we get anglers parking their cars for hours on end and some park in the most inconsiderate and often dangerous manner. A CSO came out and placed tickets on vans/cars whenever they were obstructing the pavement or road - that soon stopped the problem!

I would think a fire engine would struggle to access your road if a bin lorry can't, so I'd call that an obstruction!

If it happens occasionally I would not say anything but if it is a regular thing then I probably would. Depends really on how I think they would take it. If I thought they were going to get nasty and it would cause more problems then I would keep quiet.

Although it's true that you have no right to park outside your house or even in your road I do feel they are being inconsiderate.

A few years ago the neighbours directly opposite me used to park a large transit type van outside my house. They had a large drive but because they had about 5 other vehicles they could not get all their vehicles on it.

We had to keep parking quite a distance away and I did think of saying something but never got round to it. Anway after a few people knocked and said that the van was causing problems with them coming out of the service road and trying to turn into my road because the van blocked them being able to see. I told them that the van was nothing to do with me or OH and they all said "well it's parked outside your house". Often it would sit there for weeks without moving.

After one outburst from someone who obviously did not believe that the van was anything to do with us I went over and spoke to the woman opposite. I was a bit worried as she was known as a loudmouth and bit of a troublemaker. Anyway she was as nice as pie and I explained that it wasn't the fact that we couldn't park but I was getting complaints. I said why didn't they put the van on the drive and park one of the cars outside ours? They started doing that and because the car was smallish we could get our car there as well!!

If having a drive is so crucial, maybe you should have bought a house that had one? Plenty of people don't, plenty of people don't have cars! Walking a few extra yards with your shopping or your car seat is so far from being a hardship of any kind that its laughable.

I agreed with the points you raised in your first post on here Person_one. The subsequent messages you have left for the OP quoted above are really unecessary and I dont understand your motive behind them.

Okay so you dont agree with this situation being an issue, as the OP sees it. Why the need though to tell her the way she views a situation is laughable or that she is not unique or special in not having things 100% perfect. That is just being very rude and personal. No adult expects life to be 100% perfect, that would afterall be completely unrealistic. No adult needs that pointed out to them do they? It is okay for the OP to hope for some consideration and thoughful actions from her neighbours.

She should also be able to come onto a forum like this and express her views without having the likes of you vilify and mock her. Your posts on this thread have made it very unpleasant to read.
