Car boot news...
My husband did very well, made nearly £60 and (more importantly) cleared 4 boxes of junk from the loft as well as 3 "bulky" items :T.
I have since had a rummage through the leftover car boot clothes and I am debating whether to charity shop them or take to the "clothes-by-the-kilo" place.
At the moment I have 3 very large bags of clothes sat by the front door - too heavy for me to take anywhere, so I will have to wait for help.
I really feel like I am making progress now, I can start to see the end, however distant it might be...:rotfl:. But all the progress I have made is down to this thread, so thank you all for keeping me on track.Value of prizes 2010 - 2017: £8374 Wins 2022: Magic set

I tackled the "spice drawer" on the weekend. Found several small packets of things like cinnamon, that I've added to the large Douwe Egbert jars I normally use for storing things like that. Have no idea where the small packets came from (I buy my main spices by the half-kilo bag). Apparently, if you leave a bottle of ground chili alone in the dark, it'll clone itself for company.:rotfl:
When the big chili jar gets a bit emptier, I'll have another go. I still have to find space for the dozen or so jars of herbs and spices we were given when DH's mate moved to Sweden at the start of the month. I'm sure there's room in the drawer now, it's just a case of wriggling them in.LMAO! I thought this kinda thing just happened in my spice cupboard!
alec eiffel, I absolutely understand where you are coming from with your Eames chair. Some things just gladden the heart and the eye and they're not the same things for each of us. Which is a darned good job too, when you think about it, or we'd be fighting tooth and nail for the same bits of stuff.
Not going to be achieving much along the de-richarding lines today as going to work in a few mins, then one of my very rare meals out (cheapy pizza and cinema night) with an old pal. When I looked at my shorn locks on the hairdressers floor yesterday I felt the urge to gather them up and bring them home. I did nothing of the sort, of course, but it's worrying to even want to.
Some month soon I shall have to sort out my clothes.........give me strength, people, I'm going in.
Have a good day and can I make a couple of requests, please? Is there a national chain(s) that buy clothes by the kilo because I've never come across this in my neck of the woods, and where is this special redheads website. And can you still call yourself a redhead if you're greying fast? I do have green eyes and freckles, tho.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Having a nice thing in a room is, for me, more than having a nice thing, it represents other things too. Not just the obvious stuff like memories or relationships but they're a warning sign, they say "this is my space, nothing else is meant to be here". So other than my bum and a cushion nothing lives on the polyprop chair. Other than my aspidistra, holiday pot and wooden moose nothing goes on the shelf in the porch (a natural home for junk mail, keys, things to deal with "later") etc.
It's a really simple way to keep the house maintained. I mean, I went through so much to get to this point I don't want to sow any seeds of doubt into my head and start piling up again. Having the nice things kind of immunises those surfaces from junk. If that makes sense.0 -
Blossom I bought my two that whiskas biteandchew stuff  yegads the smell...they have a litter tray too which drives me nuts but both are wusses and won't go outdoors

Hiya guys, I'm bright eyed and bushy tailed this morning!
Just called H!MRC as I seemed to [STRIKE]screw[/STRIKE]
mess up my registration online (I thought I'd registered twice), after eventually getting through to a real person, panic over...well almost! So I don't need to cat flap my return till January.
GQ, I had my long hair cut about a month ago, and was concerned to see it didn't look much at all when on the floor. So it wouldn't have been much to send anywhere.
D&DD, and everyone else. :A Stalk away...:rotfl:0 -

I don't know of a chain of clothes buyers that you can visit - I was warned off the collecting type by posts on another thread that said they quibbled about what they'd collected, so went in person to one that opened up on a local industrial estate - almost a positive experience, well, not negative anyway - don't forget belts and bags as they bump up the weight - I got £7 for 2 and a half small white binbags
Just don't look back when they open your bags onto the scales, I was bit like you with your hair over one particular top!
Have I double posted? Well I don't care today! You never know how far-reaching something good, that you may do or say today, may affect the lives of others tomorrow0 -
Firend of mine uses the collecting clothes for cash person and has never had a problem. I keep meaning too.....but of course for that I need to organise the Richard clothing......well, some is in bags, but same friend told me to go through and pull out anything from monsoon because they give you money off new purchases when you take an old item back.
Re spice parent refuses to look in the spice drawer because it's too difficult to see what's in there ATM, so this summer we have had three new purchases of paprika. Grrrr.0 -
Oh, and a room of my own? ATM with no bath and a dodgy temporary shower I would have a bathroom, with a deep bath for dh and I.
But I getu that might not be what the question is about.....
I think if it were a room for no practical purpose I would have a room ful of sparkley things and curios. (the sort of things I won't buy because they are dust collectors and Richard ) I have a cupboard in which I keep my jewellery, it's my idea of heaven, seven year old girls tend to love it, but ipthere is no pink to be seen. I would like a room that was dark but glimmers and sparkled like that.0 -
Hmm I would like a room with a couple of comfy chairs (and a comfy dog bed!), a home entertainment centre, a decent table/storage for my crafts, oh and decent lighting (both natural and artificial!)Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

I often think about my 'dream room'!
it would have big comfy armchair next to some french doors looking out onto a garden that gets the sun all day. There would be a small table next to the chair for my glass, book, current knitting project etc.
There'd be a nice wooden desk and comfy chair, and lots and lots of lovely, well organised storage! The colours would probably be a bit 'country' with plain walls and a small print floral for the fabrics.
There'd be lots of space for my knitting books and projects, cookery books and mags, etc.
Oooooooooooh, what I wouldn't give for that room! Not Buying It 20150
