:( Sorry that your ex is remote-control niggling you via your DD, Byatt, it's a very despicable thing to do esp as your DD has learning disability. Best wishes that the helpful advice given by other poster.

Well, today I have re-tidied the linen cupboard and removed the sleeping bag I replaced last month and taken it, all clean and usable, to the c.s. in the bag which my new pillow came in.

Gawd, but was that bag a temptation to hoard. Oblong carrier bag with cloth sides and handles and a window of plastic so you could see the contents, I was racking my brains to re-purpose it then I thought better of the impulse and used to to rehome the sleeping bag with, whew, that was close.:o:p

I'm also giving serious consideration to de-ricahrding about 2 feet off my barnet.......will do it after w*rk tomorrow if the resolve still holds.

GQ...............or Shorna Lockes, as I am known in RL.

:D Well down my back. I'm thinking of going pretty short with it.

I have very thick hair, both individual strands being thick and a lot of it, so it's very very heavy and won't do a lot of styles. Plus I'm lazy and don't enjoy fiddling with it. So, most of the time it's ponytailed or twisted up with a clip, which doesn't work too well with the headset I wear for my job.

I've got form for radical haircuts, once went from a very long curly perm to a crewcut, and no one recognised me. :rotfl:Not going to do anything quite so radical but will have to probably no longer than jaw-length.

If nothing else it'll give a few peeps something to talk about, and it'll grow back in a few years. I'm getting annoyed with it and my decluttering today turned up a 5 year old pic of my with short hair and it was looking pretty good.

Old love letters are a waste of a bit of ribbon imo. If the relationship is over, it's over. You can't go back and why would you want to want to hurt yourself by having a big cloud of the past clogging up the house?

    Hugs Byatt.

:) Here, here. And imagine if your nearest and dearest end up reading them after you've gone. It's one thing if the person in question is the love of your life, IMO, and a keeper, but souvenirs of relationships which ended, perhaps unhappily? I wouldn't want them around, bad vibes etc.

Feeling very upbeat about the prosective haircut. Thinking about how I've avoided going swimming because of how long The Mophead takes to dry (6 hours naturally or 45 mins with a hairdryer fer crying out loud). A person should not be dictated-to by her hair, she should remain in charge at all times.

Swimming hats aren't an option, either as they can't manage to contain the combination of a large skull and the mega-mop. I've tried no end of them over the years, to no avail.

:D And when I've dericharded the hair, I can derichard the hair accessories, a kipple of pony-bands and various other bits & bobs. It's all good.

GQ, may have mentioned this to you before, can't remember if it was you or another person who was planning to cut their hair, but I donated my hair recently to the Little Princess Trust, and it was a good feeling. If your username is about your hair and it is grey, they may not take it, but if not, it is worth doing! I think some other organisations do take grey hair, so maybe worth a quick google to find out. The donation part is easy - just tie the hair up at both ends so it can't get tangled, chop it off and pop it in the post. Simples!
    Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!

    :eek::eek: I have very fine hair in a bob - 1 min hairdryer tops...and I regard that as a bit of chore:D

Byatt - horrid 'niggling by remote control' (great phrase BH). Some great advice that I hope helps

Jojo, hope the day has improved. I injected yesterday and today has been a total write off whereas last Sunday was almost unaffected.

I've got 5 carrier bags full of books I want to pass on. They've been hanging around for a while. I think I might see the 'books only' CS I want to pass them on to has any voluteers that could pick them up for me.
I've also finally got to the stage where I can let go of 4 (of 6)gorgeous painted large glasss wine glasses and 2 champagne flutes as a friend really wants them and that seems a much easier way to let go than to a c.s. It cuts down on the risk of panic that I can't get them back. Even though I know I won't ask for them back.
Bought them when I moved into my house 10 yrs ago....(I don't drink:o ) Aspirational lifestyle clutter for definite. Keeping 2 of the glasses as vases - one holds a beautiful dried hedgerow posy from our wedding. I just need to arrange collection.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

:( I've just downloaded their .pdf about hair donation and they don't want hair more than 10% grey. Mine is much greyer than that, anything from 30% to 70% depending on which part of my scalp. Shame.:(

Never mind, it's good to publicise such an excellent cause. TY.

    Shame they cannot dye it.

Yep long hair can be a chore. I have long hair, but it's curly, so I find long is easier as it gives me more options, as pulling a brush through it is not one for me to look presentable in a hurry.
