  • I am definitely definitely beginning to experience the "decluttering and simplifying your life creates space for new opportunites to enter your life" as extraordinarily true. It's exciting.
I have been watching Extreme Couponing USA and it is so the opposite of how I want to be - seems there is no real decision making, no discerning shopping, just "grab that one cos it's 40% off" - and just how much "parsta" can people eat!? :D
Happy New Year to you too BB

PQ, I know what you mean about CS - we eventually realised that MIL gave everything straight to the CS so we started choosing things that would give them the best return (think she'd rather have had 40 fags! :rotfl:)

Byatt & sjp - I'm glad you have your calm areas to enjoy :T

lir - I'd love to show you some photos but it's so individual that it would identify me, and I need to hide behind a username to be brave enough to confess my addictions! I have had a workman suddenly say how nice it was to work in a home so full of colour as so many people are having neutrals :o - but I am starting to crave white space

Well I am starting a new year 2 stone lighter than last new year, bit of a shock to have lost an extra half stone over Christmas, must be my love of sprouts! (and Roses!) It's playing havoc with my clothes disposal decisions though, and wierdly my shoes are now too big so I am having to live in boots
You never know how far-reaching something good, that you may do or say today, may affect the lives of others tomorrow
  • Sorry I went missing - but I had to pop in to say - HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I have got rid of a lot of things, and I threw out things that someone else could have used. Okay, half a reel of thread is not much use to many, and I am sure that the CS are going to be inundated by unwanted presents and clutter cleared due to NY resolutions, but it was hard to actually throw something away with utility. But I did, and I actually felt good. I have found a dvd player and a digital set top box that I think is now out of date while clearing stuff up, and a little gas camping stove I got in just in case for the Millenium.

I hope everyone is doing well and had a marvellous Christmas. I hope you don't mind if I come back in the New Year as I found this thread and the lovely people on it a real help.

I shall try and catch up the thread later. hugs!

Well, it's a New Year now.

And after such a long thread of happiness and sadness and everything in between - and lot of Stuff getting in the way of all of it - I think it's time for a new, clean and shiny thread.

Please join me in our new home for the New Year!

I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.
