If you had something worth 87 million that you had spent 10 years of your life working on of course you would sell it !!!!!!
We seem to have lost sight of the fact that its his, we are guests ! There is no reason why it wont stay similar to what it is.
Maybe even better ?!!
I personally say well done to Martin and the team and lets get back to the business of saving money. There is still lots of work to be done.

What about 20% of your cut, Martin, that is a larger figure and both more helpful and more of a sacrifice (whilst still leaving you rightly made for life after your highly-successful endeavour, I imagine?).
He's giving £10 million.Skeenfleent wrote: »Figures don't lie.

Now that Mr Lewis is associated with a commercial operation will he be dropped from all those broadcasting and newspaper slots where he has always been described as independent?
Well, he'll no longer be 'independent'...
That's the strange thing, had he sold the site and walked, he could probably have retained the independent tag. That will be nigh-on impossible now he is in the employ of MS.
I expect he'll still get plenty of TV work, but I wonder will the BBC be so keen? Be surprised if he tips up on Watchdog anytime soon....We are QPR, say we are QPR!0 -
Just want to say good for you martin.. I would have done the same & so would everybody else posting on this forum. Can anybody honestly say they would turn down 87 million. ? In 3 years he can start up again elsewhere.
You have given us great free advice for years , It may not be so impartial in future , but if its not , I think we will all smell a rat & leave the site.0 -

Glad you got the message. Bye bye now.0 -
Martin Lewis is not a "consumer champion", he is a businessman motivated by profit, and always has been. Does that mean that he has taken advantage of a lot of naive and vulnerable people on this site? Yes, I would say so. Do I blame him for it? No, not really, I am just amazed it has taken the takeover for people to realise.0

Are your subtley disguised insults allowed?
I don't expect bullies to show they are hurt in public.
You have several choices:
1.You can choose to terminate your discussion with me. I didn't invite it and won't miss it.
2. You can keep on whining and getting ripostes from me.
3. You can hit the report button and see if admin agree that starting a conversation with insults is the best way to make friends on MSE.
I don't really care and your opinions don't matter to me.0 -
