Faith is the denial of observation, so that belief can be preserved.

That doesn't quite add up. Lot's of people are not attacking Martin at all. Lot's are pointing out the potential downsides for the site though.0 -
Martin deserves to get a nice wedge back for all his work helping us to save money and fight ripoffs. He's staying for at least 3 years and has negotiated strong editorial independence - probably reducing the price he got in the process.0

There's a question missing from the Q&A. "What's in in for MoneySupermarket.com and how will they make a return on their massive investment?"
From reading press releases etc, 59% of MSE's income (think I read either 49 or 59%) comes from MoneySupermarket, so they would be saving themselves millions every year.
Also Martin is staying on for at least 3 years and it will be run the same as it is now.

I'm actually quite disgusted reading the nasty, spiteful and insulting comments on here
Martin has done SO much for millions of us, and everyone was pretty grateful to him then; now he's getting a well deserved reward for all his efforts and forum members are throwing their toys out of the pram, grow up for goodness sake and be glad for what Martin has done, and clearly will continue to do, that is, help others to save money.Make the most of life, it is not a rehearsal!0 -

Maybe it doesn't add up, but I have read many insulting personal comments to Martin which he does not deserve! To repeat what others have said, requires education, to challenge it,requires brains!FEB GC/DIESEL £200/4 WEEKS0 -
Moneysupermarket don't exactly have a good ethical track record...
from wikipedia: In 2004, Moneysupermarket.com paid Moneyfacts £3.9 million in an out of court settlement to settle a dispute of alleged intellectual property theft.
from en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moneyfacts
On a personal note I'm quite shocked to hear Martin has sold out, but then receiving £35million in cash plus shares and another £27million in cash plus shares in 3 years time, he's certainly set for life, and in a way that's something to be admired.
Martin certainly won't need to worry about debt, or whether he has the right credit card or if he's on the right utility tariff ever again!!!
Editorial independence aside, I don't think I will look upon this web site with the same view anymore.0 -

Yes. No change. That's what is usually promised when one company buys another. There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.
It's for the many and not the few. Be sure it's out there looking for you.
In every town, in every state. In every house and every gate.
Wth every precious smile you make. And every act of kindness.

It is cringeworthy that he had announced that MSE has "joined" ms.com... Why can he not just open and honest about it?<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0
