I may be totally and utterly wrong ............. and if I am I apologise
BUt that advert is too much like a dealers / traders advert ,
too much information e.g Nighthawk black metallic ........... most people would say black ,fully adjustable front seats ? every car has that ,Low car tax band most people would say cheap car tax
sure you aren't a trader ? if not you know how to describe a car like a dealer
If I'm wrong I apologise again
Now I wait to be hung drawn and quartered
If I was selling a car, I'd look on Autotrader and the like to see what information others give. It might mean that my ad looked similar to that of a trader (especially if I was lazy and copy/pasted and adjusted to suit my car), but doesn't really mean I was a trader.0 -
The OP is NOT a trader. I've met the guy & he's genuine

I am not a dealer, and I have just advertised my car, with all the relevant information, including the exact paint description, because it is very popular. The more information you put about a vehicle, the more likely you are to sell it.
I thought that dealers described the car thus: "Lovely motor John, one careful owner (and a few careless ones:rotfl:), long ticket, first to see will buy".0 -
Update
Right you lot! They've taken the car to Honda who have stated the air con compressor clutch field coil has failed. It's £500 or so for Honda to fix it, I've been sent scanned copies of the quote for work and the diagnostics report.
The buyer has refused to get quotes from any independent garages, which obviously would be cheaper. I don't see why I should pay main dealer prices, or anything at all to be honest.
It's a random failure that could have happened at any time according to the air con specialists I've just rung. There's no way to 'bodge' it to work temporarily as it's all electronically controlled. Looks like it was just one of those things.0 -

I copied and pasted most of the ad from another ad on Autotrader, changing the details so they were relevant to mine.0 -

I don't think the second claim can be substantiated as it seems the car has at least 1 significant fault. Whether or not that fault was present at the time of sale is anyone's guess and I suspect this point will be quite hard to prove.
Basically I wouldn't like to bet on which way this might go if it went to the small claims court. I think the OP needs to take some proper legal advice on this.0 -

It looks as though you are accepting some liability for this if you have tried to get the buyer to provide you cheaper quotes??
Unless you are happy to get involved over this (and how long a "warranty" will you give the buyer, as no doubt he will be back!), then you should be rejecting all approaches.0 -

No I'm not accepting liability, I was advised by a legal adviser that I might want to give a good will payment towards the issue, which is not accepting any liability or giving warranty.0
