Sammy, thanks I have bookmarked a site containing the information and download so will certainly fire one off. I am guessing I can claim April 2011 - March 2012 now and then put one in May for April 2012 - March 2013? Ahh in that case no my employers prob will not. Out of interest will the revenue contact my employer? It makes no odds to me but don't want to appear desperate to my employers :o

Yes cars are not my best friends just now! I hope your's isn't too costly to fix! Mine thankfully although its broken many times except the MOT its only been £10's + labour instead of £100's.

Take care, great to see you posting!

Nope the revenue won't inform your employer although you are getting what is due so you would in my opinion appear to be savvy rather than desperate.

Yes i should be getting back on the DMP wagon shortly..just been reading for a bit of inspiration. I need to tighten my belt so that I have some savings..and I want to buy a smart car one day.

Ahhh thanks, it wouldn't be a problem anyway but you know! So thats Tuesday's job sorted :T

Ohhh good luck with that, I have got so many more diarys sub'ed to and blogs. I am even reading MFW's diary's just because some people seem very inspirational! Good luck with your savings and car purchase. I am going to work through 2013 save as much as possible and then move into 2014 on a positive footing, unlike right now.

Added 'Use it up, wear it out, make it do, do without! - Belinda Richardson' to my signature today an thats my go to verse this year I am even getting the home involed as I am cooking store cupboard dinner's the next two days. Did a tally up of gifts/cards/toiletries/stuff today and except for shampoo and deodrant I am good for 4 months+. The only big payment I need to pay in the next few months is Mum's birthday gift (£30) and a small token gift from me (£5).

Xmas rota's just gone in, looking for a good wage on Friday. Anything over what I need for bills will be thrown straight onto my CC!

I found Belinda through Froogs aka Frugal Queen who I 'think' I found through here but am unsure. There are some AMAZING blogs out there :D

Happy Birthday and Happy New Year PAP x
No longer using this account for new posts from 2013
  • Many thanks for all your wishes :j Sadly it wasn't a great birthday or new year as I have had S & D. But feling better today if a little weak. Back to work tomorrow! Thankfully I only have three calls to make :T

So spends on my behalf £4 today for medicaton. Its kinda money nutral though as it was owed to me from my sister. However that £26 left for medication in 2013.

I hope you are all having a great new year!

    Take care

  • Sorry about the huge post!

Semi good day, but relisation that my 'dream' budget may never work!

So I needed change for car parking tomorrow so after work stopped to get some money out. This car parking money hasn't been counted in my main budget because I always get it back once a month from my employer. But I needed change, I also needed fruit* So a £3.10 spends and some of that was reduced. That then leaves me enough car parking for two days :T

However my spends didn't stop there! I have been reading someones inspirational blog for a while now and this year he is releasing a book mostly of stuff contained within the blog but also other added things. Well as with modern technology its on the kindle now :o His blog is free to read and he has put hours of time into it as its more of a resourse than a blog I wanted to 'pay him back'. Now I knew I couldn't get the book as shipping (international) would have cost too much, however the kindle at £2.19 I can do! So thats todays other spends

    * Food wasn't included on my budget as its within the rent payment. But if I want something that Mum hasn't bought or Mum can't afford then I have to supplement that. Now I was going to be strict and only eat what is avalible but when you crave something you got to eat it.

Therefore I have decided to draw a line under this whole huge budget thing and trying to be frugal. In reality that can never happen untill I move out and I can control everything. So instead I am moving back to my 'Plan of action' posted on 27/12 but I have changed it a little so I can have a bit of something for me.

    * Clear CC - First priority, would love to clear it before 31st of June. One month after the final payment for my loan is taken.

    * Save - Approx 25% of non bill money saved until CC is repayed. Once the CC is paid 100% non bill money saved.

    * No spending - Tried this last year, this year I am determined to give it a better go. Exceptions are food (within reason), toiletries, medication, shoes and clothes for work (I know I need new trousers) and charity shoe box stuff. Anything I buy must be the cheapest I can find and I must use up everything before buying new.

    * £5 per week play money can be used on anything including above. If not spent can be saved in a pot at home and used on other weeks or saved.

Todays realisation that one can not make anything too complicated :T I will review my huge budget maybe when I am debt free to find and make savings but right now I am losing sight of my goal which is to get debt free asap, would love it to be June!
