  • Brother ex girlfriend wanted the £50 benifits my brother got through today. That was some of the money I had lent to him over the weekend, I needed that for my car insurance due out tomorrow. So I have had to take that money out as cash on my CC  otherwise I would have incured fees plus looked bad in the eyes of my insurer.

I now have only £4 in my bank, nothing saved for my bills and a CC bill that is really high and none of it mine except the garage :o

But its only money at the end of the day and I will get through it. Just hate being the one to pick up all the pieces when it comes to finance's

That's so annoying but I hope you'll be charging your brother interest and making him pay the CC fees! Because he has to learn not to borrow more than he can afford!

  • Ok maybe I should explain.... My lil brother has been in a relationship for 16months. He left his job (not on our advice) and became her full time carer. The relationship has now broken down and he has walked away with only his tv/clothes/dvd's/xbox. He has no income, has no car (I will come to that) and is now applying for JSA. The money I lent him payed for a second hand bed, second hand stereo and second hand unit. He has also used my CC in order to sort other thngs I don't want to put on an open forum.

The thing is he is due £4k+ from a car accident back in 2010 before the relationship began. He was 'supposed' to recieve a cheque for half of it before it went back to court but he hasn't. He now has to wait for the next court date. So he can and will repay it but it will now be longer than first thought. The £50 he was going to give me Monday was his carer's allowance that she demanded back because he now isn't carering for her. He will be getting a car and going back to work :D

That said it really doesn't help me out because I am down a lot of money but we have sorted it out, kinda. Mum will pay me everything she still owes me (£130) plus I will not pay any rent this week (£40). That leaves me only £107.xx to find thats about as much as I was going to save from my pay for my bills anyways which means I am on a level playing field. Except the sick days I took will not be payed so if push comes to shove I will lend missing money from Mum is needed, or pay no rent next week too.

Obviously I still have the CC bill to pay but have told my brother he must clear the bill once he gets his cheque and I will repay him my part of the (garage bill) at 0%, over 3months :D That means I will only need to pay the min payment until The cheque come's through :T Ok it will not look good on my credit record but what can I do just now :o

So in the grand scheme of things, I know its only money and I really shouldn't worry but its really upset me that I have done a good turn and I am the one losing out. The only one really to blame is the courts but they will not help me.

Anyways, back on the wagon :T
  • Update! :j

As known I recieved a lower wage than usual, but not overly low. So this is where I stand....
    Bank - £263.63
    £21.66 - Groceries
    £28.03 - Petrol
£14.58 - Ink cart for printer
    £4.00 - Necklace
    = 195.36

Groceries are mainly feminine stuff, E45, cake stuff (now bro is home its cheaper to bake than buy), torch for work and pizza for tonight. The petrol isn't a full tank  My car wasn't playing today and the pump kept clicking, gave up after a while, may last until Friday though. I have held out buying ink for a long time but my NVQ at work requires it now, the postage was £4 though :o The necklace was a treat, that includes postage too, will prob make it into a keyring though.

I also have £15.50 in my purse which is to last me all week. The £4.50 was used for swimming entry today. I also need to purchase a hole puncher

So my bills are £277.05 next Friday, I have £195.36 now, I have budgeted to give another £64.00 from next weeks wage so thats £17.69 missing. I am hoping next week is mileage week but I can't be sure. If not Mum says I can use some of the rent money :D

The only thing I haven't budgeted for is my first CC statement. However Mum put the groceries on it yesterday and gave me the whole amount today so that is in my seperate current account. Once the bill comes in I have all that to pay (£90) which should be the min payment :T

Feel much better today than I did last week, at least I can pay my bills next week :j I also managed to change my mobile number for free rather than buying a new sim and losing credit/free credit :j
