This whole fake PCN thing is soooo obviously a scam I am constantly amazed when people still seem unsure. :)

    Think about it...

If you were inside that retail shop and they had a sign up by the tills saying you had to queue in a straight line...and you didn't...would you honestly worry about not paying if they said you had to pay some random £50?! Even if they pointed to the signs?! :rotfl:

Or if you accidentally dropped litter in the shop, would you get your money out to pay £50 if an agent/employee of the retailer rushed up and said you faced a penalty for littering?!

No!! Obviously you would think they were stark raving mad, as clearly no-one can 'fine' another for a 'made up' thing like not queuing straight, and everyone knows that only Councils can possibly issue penalties for on-street littering...

So, what everyone should also know is that only Councils/Police/TFL (or rarely, a Train Operator like Northern Rail) can issue a real penalty for parking.

Anything else should not be taken seriously = scam.

I appreciate this is an old thread but I need a bit of advice please.

The other day I picked up a ticket from UKPC for parking without displaying a permit. I wasn't displaying one but had been parking in this car park on numerous occasions and never received a ticket until now. They have only just changed the signs from 'needing to display a disabled badge' and 'park within the lines' to both of those requirements plus display a permit.

I appreciate I should had been more responsible but I've been caught out.

Everyone is saying ignore. Is that still the case in Sep 2013?

I would appreciate some reassurance. Thanks.

But things changed a bit in 2013, since the POFA 2012 and the fact that some PPCs are taking people to court.

DO NOT IGNORE UNLESS IN SCOTLAND OR NI.

    But you don't pay either.

  • I too have had two letters from UKPC demanding £100 for parking without clearly displaying a valid pay and display ticket.
I am definitely not paying after reading all the posts, and I am certainly more confident about this too.

Just like to add also, I certainly do not pay a TV Licence also.
    That too is a scam.

You should have appealed it. Still can, if within 28 days of the first PCN letter in the post.

YOU SHOULD COMPLAIN ABOUT IT TO THE LANDOWNER - BUT GET OFF THIS OLD THREAD FROM MAY 2012. ONE CLICK GETS YOU TO THE CURRENT THREADS!!

  • Hi everyone. Im worried about a parking fine a received a few weeks back, Im a carer for a young girl with CP who requires a wheelchair at all times. I took her shopping and we parked in a no-charge zone, however needed to use the disabled bay for access reasons. (Not thinking a badge would need to be displayed as the whole car park was a free zone). On return, I had a notice for a £60 fine, and couldnt find a parking attendant anywhere to explain our circumstances. If i ignore the fine, they've said it will double. Any advice would be great, or do I just pay it?

if you read the reply before yours it says NO REPLIES HERE

this means START YOUR OWN THREAD using the blue NEW THREAD button on the main forum just next to the green banner (on the left)

once you have done that you will receive the advice you need

unfortunately what you have done is hijack a thread, in this case an old one, which is considered a no-no

so please start your own new topic

    thanks

  • Hi
My friends have been given parking tickets from UKPC when visiting me at my apartment are they ok to ignore them too? There are no yellow lines, it's away from the main road and the only sign that is there is high up and half broken off!
I also have an email to say they are not to ticket on weekends or evenings so I would presume this includes bank holidays?

    Please help??
