  • Hi,
I've found this thread due to looking for a company to provide a parking scheme. Our parade of shops has parking which is constantly used by people parking and leaving our site. People park badly taking up 3 bays sometimes, and leave them for hours. Our shops are all independent business and we need the parking for paying customers, its how we make a living. If there is no where to park our trade goes elsewhere. We have a coop next to our site which has a huge car park, for some reason lots of their customers believe its perfectly acceptable to park outside our shops while they spend money in there. We have to look after our asset, the last quote we had for the tarmac to be relaid and white lines painted was £67,000.00. All i seem to have read on this thread is how people should not pay the parking fines, and not really respect parking schemes which may be there for a genuine legitimate reason.
We want to look after our customers by preventing bad parking on our private property. Can anyone recommend a company for this?

    Thanks,

    David.

Why not start you own thread as you are supposed to instead of hi-jacking a totally unrelated thread I'm sure you will get loads of useful replies!

You need to do a bit more homework though no scamming firm you engage can "fine" anyone and have you ever thought that maybe people park in the Coop and use your facilities?

well do some basic diligence first - five minutes googling prospective firms will tell you if they are ex clampers, current fraudsters , etc.
  • Wow- What an informative friendly forum.

David, we understand your problem but installing a private
parking company would be the worse decision you ever made

WHY ??? because they are not interested in parking
    management but MONEY only.

They will ticket anything that moves and will mean your
customers ..... that will destroy your parade of shops

It is financially dangerous for all of you.

As the parking vermin read this forum, you could get
a private message (PM) from one of them touting for
business .... best to ignore them as they are simply
    not interested in your customers.

If you do go down that route, watch out for restrictive
contracts which means if you want to kick them out
(and you will do), there will be a huge £££ penalty to pay.

Plus, you and the other retailers need to include that
you can cancel any ticket issued to a customer without
    reference to the parking company.

WARNING though ... you will enter into a dangerous world
where customers will react badly and pass it on

If you think "fines" have anything to do with private parking, then you need to inform yourself properly before dealing with these sharks - And if the PPCs are suggesting they have any authority to fine people, then you are being seriously misled.

Employing any PPC is about the very worst thing you can do from a customer service POV - all PPCs want is money and even your customers are legitimate targets as far as they are concerned. In fact they will almost certainly put more time and effort into preying on them as the easy option compared to actually managing your parking.

You also clearly agreed to not hijack threads as part of your signup, so how about getting this moved on to its own thread? Board Guides are listed at the bottom of the forum mainpage, please PM one.

The answer, is no, we can't. NO PPC WILL ''LOOK AFTER'' YOUR CUSTOMERS.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

    Parking is customer service
Outsourcing custoemr service to a third party firm, who dont CARE if your business fails - they just care about money now - is going to cause pain

    ITs insanely, frighteningly obvious.
