I like their gammon steaks but you do have to pick a less fatty pack
Also enjoyed their pork loin joints, bacon rashers and smoked ham. Haven't had any problems with them but I do examine things carefully before I choose a pack
(In Aldi the lean mince is good but sometimes the meat looks somewhat past its best even when in date)

Lidl chorizo is tasty - fantastic chopped up into small pieces, fried and mixed into a pasta sauce. You do have to peel the skin off though, which is a bit fiddly.

We don't have aldi in NI
Think will get some chicken to try and maybe sausages. In thier ad it said on the pack 'isrsh pork' and 'northern irish lamb' so appears to be locally sourced. Meh. Will get the ususal load of choc and cheap beer anyway!

The only meat I have bought from Lidl was a beef roasting joint which wasn't at all good, tough and tasteless! Must try them again after reading everyones comments, can't really judge on one joint I suppose.0

If you will eat the 'junk food' from there then eating the meat ought not to be a problem as it is a LOT better than the 'junk food'Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:
