    Be careful using Mighty Deals.

I bought one of the £10 PC World vouchers for £5 but Mighty deals have failed to deliver it and have taken the money from my account.

Their customer service are refusing to give me the voucher as they said I have previously bought an Argos voucher, and are also refusing to refund the £5 to my bank account.
  • Despite my three emails on Friday and the previous one, I have still not heard anything from mighty deals and I still cannot redeem the voucher. They just seem to be ignoring me. I will never get another deal from them and I will take my name of the mailing list. Hopefully I paid through Paypal as I might stand a chance of a refund!
  • Hi Vanilla Spice,

You are not alone with being disatisfied with Mighty Deals. I purchased a Tesco card on 22nd July and despite numerous emails after following instructions carefully on how to redeem my voucher have not received the card. This must be a scam mustnt it?
  • Today have had a twelve email conversation with someone from Mighty Deals who wanted to know exactly what I was experiencing including screen shots. I obliged and she sent me another link and told me to put in all my details. This was at lunch time and I have since sent two more emails to say NOTHING HAS CHANGED!!!!! She now seems to have disappeared. Unfortunately I did not pay wth Palpal. That will teach me.

Nellinda, did you find it easy to 'redeem' your voucher. There is no way of doing this for me, even with the new link. This is too stressful for a stupid voucher. I won't be bothering again that's for sure!
  • I did not realise that there were so many problems with Mighty Deals. I have been unable to redeem the Tesco voucher, but I have also encountered a much bigger issue with them recently.

I purchased 2 vouchers for a trip to Iceland to see the Northern Lights, which clearly stated £239 pp with a £25 excess for travelling to Manchester.

When I phoned up the travel agent company to book, they said I had to pay an additional surcharge of £73 pp.

Now I do realise that I could have tried for a refund, but the price was still cheaper than the other deal we had enquired about elsewhere so I pressed on with it so we didn't lose out on our holiday.

However I did contact Mighty Deals about the advertisement on their website clearly falsely advertising prices and they have several times tried to fob me off to the travel company (who while are crooks for their booking fees, I don't think are culpable here). I have since contacted the Advertising Standards Agency Authority and it is in their hands for now.

BUT, the next twist to the tail is that I was due to get cashback via Topcashback - 5.25 % for 'Getaway' breaks, which I expected to be in the region of £50 due to the £439 total cost.

However when I checked my Topcashback account, I saw that they had tried to issue cashback for £395 instead - 44 less than my transaction cost.

This is the first times I have had an issue with them, but they really are showing up to be a shower of crooks.

Anything else I can do to make sure I nail them on this?

Hi Annie. Thanks for taking the time to respond.

Unfortunately I have e-mailed the customer service and have been told to contact the merchant as it is no longer anything to do with Mighty Details.

I've had to go through other channels to try and seek clarification. I'd be delighted if you would be of better help than the customer service team have been thus far, but I'm not overly confident of that.
  • After emailing again and asking why they had 'disappeared' I received an email from the same person and was told that there was nothing wrong with the link she sent me to redeem the voucher and I should leave my contact number, which I did. Shortly after this email I got a call and the lady on the end of the phone redeemed the voucher for me remotely. I have since received the voucher in the post. I will not go through this again and have taken my name of the distribution list. Good luck to everyone else...

  • Nice of Mighty Deals to come back on and answer posts that are a month old. Scared of the ever mounting bad press are we?
