  • I purchased a Toughbook laptop through Mighty Deals in early February and on arrival it was damaged. I tried the MD phone number on several occasions and waited over 15 minutes each time without ever speaking to anyone.
I managed to get a returns address via email from a "Steven Riley" (who also wished my family a Merry Christmas (in March?))which turned out to be incorrect so the laptop was lost in transit for a while.
I eventually got the correct address and confirmed receipt of the laptop with the supplying company (Grabalaptop) who were very helpful and they confirmed that MD had been notified and I would receive my refund.
That was over 3 weeks ago.
Following loads of emails I received a call to say my money was refunded on 19th March and would take 4 days to be in my account.
No sign of a refund so more emails sent and today received a reply to say it would be 10 working days. Also today I received a call to say there was a problem putting the money back in my Paypal account but I didn't even pay by Paypal.
I have asked for details of their complaints department and that of their parent company "Money Expert" (not money saving expert) but have not had a reply to this.
Totally fed up with Mighty Deals and being fobbed off with lies.:(

Seen an offer on mightydeals for beat by dre ear phones, £40 instead of £120. Thought it was a good deal so made the purchase. 2 weeks went past and had not received the item. Looked on the site for a number and it says it has been removed and only contact is by submitting a ticket through their site which can take upto 3 working days for a response. Sent them an email and i got 2 back the next morning, one stating that the product wont be arriving until 14 days or more (it was the 14th day when i got the email from this lady who was the graphics designer as said from her sig, dont know why the graphics designer was emailing me and not the actual support). Then another email from support officer called (text removed by MSE Forum Team) who stated that the item had been sent and was already on its way to me. 3 days later on the monday (today 07/04/2014) it still had not arrived so again i replied to both emails i was sent to state it still had not shown up. I then got a speedy email to state contact with the merchant was made and that the ear phones had not actually been sent out and that they will be sent out tomorrow. I also had a phone call from a chap from their support (number is (text removed by MSE Forum Team) so i called back and stated that this wont do as im on holiday from thursday and wanted it for this to which he gave me another number to call (no point in stating the number as it just went to an answerphone message telling me to submit a support ticket on their website).

I then replied to support stating i needed them for before thurs and to ask merchant if they can be sent out next day delivery tomorrow so its here in time if not please refund. Reply i got was that they can not do so and a refund would be issued within 5 working days.

Really disappointed tbh, was looking forward to this purchase as it was a quality product. Will not be making another puchase with mighty deals as it takes way to long for delivery and one customer support office lied to me and the other wanted to get me off her back with just refunding me and not helping me with the purchase.

Mighty Deals rating: 2 out of 10
  • Just to let you know, merchant must of posted the package out next day delivery on monday when they said they had not shipped it by mistake as they arrived yesterday morning.

Took a long while but glad i got the Beats by Dre earphones rather than a refund as they are great.

I bought a voucher from Mighty Deals and when I received the email with link to the voucher the link didn't work. I emailed them immediately. A long, repetitive and fruitless correspondence ensued, then I received yet another email to say that as the voucher had expired they had no further reason to look at my complaint! That is insult to injury. On the say I received the dud voucher link I let them know. This time I have kept all the correspondence, because they did this to me once before, but I hadn't kept the emails.
The monetary amount in small, so I assume they think nobody will pursue the matter, but if thousands of people pay the small monetary amount for a voucher that cannot be used that would work out to a lot of money in Mighty Deals pocket with a lot of people having been ripped off - as I have - twice.
    Shocking bad customer service.

I purchased a £10 argos e-gift card for £5, I purchased a new shower curtain in the argos sale which cost a £5. Upon checking my email it states that i have to use it all in one transaction? As i do not know of any way of checking my balance online, can somebody confirm for me if this is true and I have lost out on the remaining £5 of of the gift card?

Yes, I think you've lost out.

Finally got a result. Mighty Deals so-called customer service continued to do themselves a dis-service by being obstructive, trying to shift the blame to me for goodness sake, and on and on. But, I raised a paypal dispute and submitted all the proof of correspondence etc and they have just refunded the transaction amount. A small amount, but a big victory against this unscrupulous bunch.
