I now bank with First Direct, I know there is alot of negative feedback about them, but to put in perspective I would pay £50 a month to go with First Direct rather than my experiences with Halifax. Yes I was with them a long time but that is before I was enlightened I was with Martin as to that you can move and how to move banks to stop them SC***ING you as HALIFAX do and did do to me and my fmaily dor 16 years.

If you want I can give LOADS of examplles how they robbed us.

  • my experiance with hsbc,it has to be said is very poor.i have just been going through a divorce.wanted my name taken off the joint account, filled in forms, wrote letters, filled in forms in branch.they have still not done it (4years later)!still on account.have own account went overdrawn, they kept adding charges, refused to pay them.they threatened to take money from joint account to pay off and close down my current account.money in that account is my ex-wife's nothing to do with me(i see that as theft!!)now they have put my debt over to a debt collection agency without going to court for a ruling and threatening to have me credit blacklisted.any suggestions as to what to do as i am at my wits end with these bullies

We banked with Halifax for over 10yrs and during that time we never really had any problems until they became HBOS. They are hopeless, They dont bother about customers at all. All they have in mind is profit.

Yes but sometimes you can never please people. sounds like you could be one of them

if someone is rude they can close your account anyway

Well that would be silly, firm and assertive is the correct behaviour.

The important rule is to never become personal, never make assumptions about individuals or how you believe they would react in a given situation.

One important factor is if your affairs and bank account are managed well and in credit then you can speak from a position, but if not the bank can treat you how they wish,so always maintain a solid position.

Be aware of your rights and terms and conditions.

Respond to good customer service with praise and speak to the line manager about how pleased you are with the individuals response.

    Always report bad staff attitude.

when customers get agressive and rude then yes I have seen accounts closed

staff do not make the rules and should not be treated that way

treat those with how you like to treated I say - respect

many examples of good service, and mystery shops

Who mentioned aggressive or rude, are we talking assault because then the police should be called or are we talking assertive response and the bank representatives emotional response.
