No problem P, the kettle will be on!
I am hoping today to catch up on lots of adminny type stuff, as my workshop has been cancelled so I have a bit of time on my hands. I am also going to have a bit of a rest, in advance of driving the kids to the airport at 2am Saturday morning which I then have to follow with working until late in the evening. I have to go to a meeting in Peterborough on Sunday, so will not get time to catch up on Sunday, so I really need to work on getting some rest in advance!
I put one single CD on ebay at the weekend, and it has a bid of 99p - I really really do need to get more stuff listed. Perhaps next week when the children are away I can have an ebay challenge with myself!!
Hope you all have a good day xxSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Hi Hypno:) I can relate about the ebay stuff - mind you, how much stuff have you left to ebay? I've run out of stuff now
A good idea to do it all when the kids are away next week.
Hope you have a productive day - I am off work again but I did nothing yesterday and really want to be productive today as well!

I hope you manage to get some good-quality sleep before your very busy Saturday. I often wish we could 'bank' sleep, in the way that a hibernating animal lays down plenty of body-fat to see it through the harsh times ahead IYKWIM. I don't have a single problem laying down the body fat, trouble is I never get to use it all up:eek: . But however much rest I get before a really energy-sapping period of time, it never seems to see me right through.
I'm probably talking rubbish here, on reading it back it doesn't seem to make much sense even to me wat wrote it:rotfl:
Sorry yesterday was the financial pits, but things can only get better. Have a good one today. And enjoy having a good natter with Pania. I envy you for that, 2 DFWers together, and 2 heads must be better than one sometimes where money(or lack of it) is concerned.
The idea of eBaying when the children are away sounds great. If you want to start a challenge I'd be up for it, then you'd not have to just challenge yourself:T . I've let my eBaying slide a bit lately mainly due to the uncertainties of the postal strike. Buyers can sometimes be really mean when things don't arrive practically the minute they're posted and I'd do anything to safeguard my 100% feedback record:o . Now the post is back to normal I've no excuse whatsoever.
Take care

Hiya, hypno - how's the admin going? I see your light is still on, so maybe you're still working up to that? How annoying about the money yesterday! But you know, I agree you made the right decision about the chemo client - even on an ordinary basis, I hate it when people come to me streaming and running, so it should apply to us too. I did my sessions yesterday, but cancelled my friend coming round, sadly. Don't feel too bad today, but I have four sessions (one a phone session, which is easier in some ways, not in others). Life is just trundling at the momen - and with a cold, thats as much as you (I) can hope for, really. Hope you have a good day.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Hi Guys!
Well, the killer budget day has started......sort of do or die, or reality bites chapter I think!
So, the first thing I have done is to arrange for my child benefit and tax credits to be paid to a separate account. Out of this account will come the children related stuff, with the exception of skiing. So, karate lessons, gradings, school trips etc. Anything that is left in that account at the end of each month can roll over to the next month to take account of unexpecteds like school shoes.
By the end of the day, I will either feel incredibly invigorated, or incredibly depressed!! Fingers crossed for the former!!
Oh, and I have loads of stuff still to ebay - just a matter of getting round to it!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Hi Hypno,
I have been dipping in and out of your thread for the past few weeks and checking in to see how much you have raised for the skiing fund. I hope your kids realise what a great mum they have!
Anyway, I will keep wracking my brains for money raising ideas for you, sorry I am unable to donate any cartridges!
Keep up the good work :TSaving for an early retirement!0 -
Ooh, just seen the ski total again! Great stuff!2023: the year I get to buy a car0

good luck for a productive day hon, my entire bottom of the stairs is full with ebay stuff, just got to get round to it!!!!
thats a great idea about the childrens account, and i'm sure they will be very grateful for it to!
Right i have work to do, see you just after 12. xxxdebt @05/11/11 £12210.63!! slowly chipping away!!:heart2:impossible is nothing.:heart2:0 -
Thanks, got a bit of money in from topcashback today.
Which reminds me - I have an account for the ski fund, into which all my uni money and bar money gets paid. This *should* cover a regular year's skiing. Obviously this year is not a regular year!
So, the idea is to have the following accounts:- OH main pay into one account to cover household bills and mortgage. Anything left over to be transferred into:
- Food and Petrol account (this one may be v.tight)
- Child benefit into another account to cover kids stuff.
- My "extra" income (Uni and bar) into an on line savings account for skiing
- OH 2nd job pay, plus my other income into "debt payment" account to make all debt payments except the mortgage.
- Online savings account to be set up for car/bike costs - insurance & tax, a monthly payment to be made from household bills account.
At the moment, due to taking my eye off the ball, we are exceeding our overdraft (we have £250 overdraft, currently at £500) each month by a similar amount. Therefore to bring this back to balance, and to allow me to start the above "scheme" I am applying to take a month's mortgage holiday (my mortgage does allow for this). I know that it will increase my monthly payment slightly but this will be for far less than the bank charges are for going over the overdraft!
We have spoken further about getting rid of the second car, and this is def a goer, but will not be for a few weeks as it needs tax and MOT before we sell.
Next week when the kids are away, we are doing a mid week car boot (weather permitting), OH has taken the day off work out of time in lieu and I have blocked it out of my diary clientwise.
